Liviana

I know it will be too fussy for many tastes...

But give me your thoughts.

I love Liv. I dont like Olivia. I like Livia, but not the ancient Rome connotations. Could this be a good compromise....?

I like Liliana and Aviana too, so there is obviously some subconscious '-ana' thing going on Grin

Is it a real name?

pollyblack · 25/09/2016 21:41

Sounds like a contraceptive brand to me! Love Liv though.

katemess12 · 25/09/2016 21:42

Don't like it.

Liv is an acceptable stand-alone name in many countries. And Liv Tyler is just Liv.

Garthmarenghi · 25/09/2016 21:43

Lavinia? It's a bit less fussy sounding.

MotherDuckSaid · 25/09/2016 22:02

what about Lavinia ?

lastqueenofscotland · 25/09/2016 22:03

Horrid. Sorry.

SirNiallDementia · 25/09/2016 22:08

Sounds made up and fussy.

Really like Liv as a stand alone name, also like Lavinia.

LunaLoveg00d · 25/09/2016 22:13

It does sound like you've not been able to make your mind up between a few names and have just cobbled them all together.

Enidblyton1 · 25/09/2016 22:14

Love Lavinia and Lilliana and Livia.
Afraid I really don't like Liviana.

HoratioNightboy · 25/09/2016 22:37

I've come across it before, and I like it!

mycatstares · 25/09/2016 22:42

Is it pronounced the same as lavinia?

I had a friend called that when I was younger and she hated it.

Stilldreamingofsun · 26/09/2016 10:42

What about viviana nn viv? I too used to like Lavinia but my friend told me it reminded her of lavatory or labia 😱

JinkxMonsoon · 26/09/2016 10:45

There are plenty of names ending in "-iana" that aren't made up. Personally I find them a bit too long and frilly, but that's my personal taste I guess.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 26/09/2016 12:43

No OP, but I do like Aviana (Ava).

expatinscotland · 26/09/2016 12:50

Not keen. Lavinia. Lydia.

CancellyMcChequeface · 26/09/2016 18:24

I love Liviana! I prefer it to Lavinia and really dislike Liv as a stand-alone name - it sounds incomplete or like the word 'live' rather than a name.

I also like Livia, Liliana and Luciana.

DespicableMeh · 26/09/2016 18:30

How about Livana?

Yika · 26/09/2016 20:18

I like it. If it's made up it certainly sounds like a bona fide name and a pretty one at that.

Houseconfusion · 26/09/2016 20:21

Reminds me of liver.

And what's with these made up names.

0pti0na1 · 26/09/2016 20:25

Liver here too I'm afraid!

Liliana is lovely though. Also Juliana, Alannah, Georgiana, Tatiana for "ana" names.

FantasticalRide · 28/09/2016 21:37

Its not made up, honestly! Or if it was made up, it was made up a long time ago. Its a very old name in England. I have a distant relative who was named this in the 1800s. It is also not completely unusual in Spain, for some reason. Not sure of the roots of it there.

I like the 'Liv-ee-ah-na' pronunciation more than 'Liv-ee-anna'.

Ho-hum. Not popular on MN, then Grin

OP, if you like Liv, just go with Liv as a standalone name. Smile
