Baby names

A sibling for Luke

Sparrowlegs248 · 24/09/2016 19:00

Ds is Luke, dc2 is on the way. I am really stuck with names. Dh really named Luke, I didn't have an outstanding preference fir a boy that he also liked. We have quite different tastes in names.

On my last list were
Luke
Finlay
Oliver
Thomas

(gone off Finlay)

Alice
Rose
Megan
Lucy

(probably can't use Lucy with Luke, dh doesn't like rose)

I would add Emma to the girls list now I think.

Any suggestions? Dh not keen on things like Clementine or Odin which I love.

I have a Luke. His brother is Adam. I also liked Ben, Marcus, Edward, Evan, William. Or Natalie, Erin, Louisa, Faye, Alicia for a girl.
Don't overthink whether names 'go together', choose what you like.

We have a Luke and a Peter. Our other options were Joshua or Adam as I had wanted an old testament name however, on googling Joshua with our surname we found he was a criminal in another country! If it was a girl DH did suggest Leia as due date was release date of "Star Wars - The Force Awakens. More sensibly, I think Iona or Nadia go well with Luke.

I couldn't understand why Leia was mentioned. Doh.

I am really leaning towards Emma, I like Kate too but not sure I could use just Kate, not Katherine (because I'm just a bit like that......) also like Hannah.

Max? Alex?
I also know a Lucas and a Matthew, which doesn't quite sound as bibble-hugging as Luke and Matthew Grin

I think Matthew, Matt, goes well with it. Perhaps overly biblical for some.

Emma Kate, is lovely O P.
How about Luke and Adam.

Emma Katherine is gorgeous! Emma and Luke go well together too.

I'm not so keen on Hannah and I seem to know a lot of little Hannahs for some reason.

Annabelle is lovely too.

I know two sets of siblings named Alice & Luke. So that combination sounds right to me :-)

Oh, weirdly, I've just remembered that I know an Alice an Luke set of siblings too (though I think he may be a Luc).

I agree with PP, a girl has to be Leia.

I have a Luke. His brother are Jack & Daniel. (The whole Jack Daniel(s) thing only dawned on me when Dan was about three months old, but in any case I talk about them collectively in birth order, so Luke is the middle!)
