So, found out we are having a boy Smile delighted with the news but only problem is I had about a million girl names I loved but zero boy names, I find it so hard! We have a little list now that I think I like but keep going off them! Opinions/other ideas are most welcome Smile definitely in need of some inspiration!

Angus
Hamish
Hugo (husbands idea, wasn't keen st first but starting to really like it now! Not sure if it's too posh?)
Frederick
Flynn
Albert (Bertie)

I like all of them apart from Hugo - to me that's a bit Made in Chelsea, IYSWIM. And I sort of feel you can only use Hamish or Angus if there's some Scottish heritage - but if there is, my favourite is Hamish.

Hamish is top of our list if dc2 turns out to be a boy. I also like Hugo from your list.

I have a William which I think is along similar lines to your list.

Others I like:
Harry
Elliot
Elijah
Max
Jackson

Love Angus but like pp would only use if you gave some Scottish connection. Fergus is another lovely Scottish name

I'm not keen on any of your others, sorry.

Yeah myself and husband are both Scottish so would be nice to have a Scottish name, I like Fergus actually, will need to add that to list!! Elliot I love but one of best friends had one do kinda rules it out!

We have a Bertie (as you can probably tell from my username). I love Angus. How about Finlay?

Hugh ? Almost Hugo, but more Scottish & not quite so posh...

I like them all although I prefer Freddie to Frederick.

You have some lovely names on your list. I'm not keen on Frederick or Flynn, but like all the rest.

I like Flynn.

If you like Angus, how about Magnus?

Don't like Frederick at all, as can't stand Freddie - sounds like a frog, plus I know a sleazy adult Freddie, which puts me off.

Thanks for the replies everyone Smile

Koala - have always loved Magnus but unfortunately husbands nephew has that name, people keep getting in before us haha!

Lost - I actually like Hugh over Hugo, might be nice alternative!

Bertieboo - Albert is on our list as it is my husbands dads name, and I love the shortened version Bertie - but worried my dad will get offended (would never inflict his name on a child though Grin) arrrgh is so difficult! I like Finlay too but seem to be a lot of them round here at the moment!

I quite like them all, I think I like Hamish the best though.
One of the middle names of DS is Fraser. Used it as a nod to my Scottish heritage.
Congratulations Smile

If you're Scottish please consider Torquil! I love it but I'm not Scottish at all so couldn't get away with it.

I like Hugo, it is posh but I like posh names.

I detest Flynn (sorry), but I like all of your other choices. I think Hugo and Albert are my absolute favourites, but I personally prefer Albie to Bertie as a nn for Albert...

I'd be careful of Hugh if you live in Scotland as the nickname most common round here for Hugh is Shug. I love Bertie, it's lovely!

I prefer Fergus or Finley. Fraser is quite nice too.

From your list iLife Hamish and Angus.
I like the suggestions of Fergus and Elliot too.
What about Magnus?

I'm not a fan of Bertie or Freddie. Very popular names at the moment alongside Alfie, Archie etc. I think they are popular because people think they are cute. I just personally don't like them.

I'm leaning towards Hamish but husband seems to be more for Albert as its his dad's name!

Ayeokthen - God never heard Shug for Hugh before, might want to avoid that!

Paperdoll - I actually know a Torquil, I think it's lovely but husband thinks it's a bit too 'out there' for us!

MrsG - have always loved Magnus but husbands nephew called that, annoying!

I do like Fraser/Finlay but seem to be getting v popular round here at the moment which puts me off a bit!

Euan/Harris/Lewis

We're Scots too and we planned to name our son after one of the Munros but we couldn't decide which one. We just decided to call him after all of them and named him Ben Smile
