What are your thoughts on the name Rocco? A little boy on big star little star was called Rocco, he was so cheeky and cute, it really suited him. Haven't really heard of it much before so don't know if it is too much of a celebrity name?

I really like it. Just curious of other people's thoughtsHmm really struggling for a name for our baby boy due in February.

St. Rocco is actually quite an interesting Catholic saint. Patron saint of dogs and invoked against the plague. Usually depicted as very good looking (although with a nasty sore) . He is one of my favourite saints. I quite like it as a name, too.Smile

My 5 month old nephew is names Rocco. I hated it at first but now I love it. Suits him really well and couldn't imagine him being named anything else.

1st thought Madonna for me too, and given what's going on with Rocco Ritchie and his mother, I think I would avoid right now!

I like it. Couldn't give a f* about celebrities or what they call their kids.

I'm not sure I like the"rock" sound, so it probably wouldn't be my cup of tea.

I know one and he's lovely. His mum is Belgian though so she rolls the R and makes it sound really cool.

Seriously crush on the name Rocco, i think its gorgeous and feisty and fun :)
Would it go with ur surname ?
Ive never met a Rocco, but i think it's one of those unusual names that is also fortunate enough not to come across as try hard and would suit all ages , from boy to man IMO

Thank you for the repliesGrin glad there's people out there that like it, because my mother and sisters laughed at me when I said it! Like PP said, it will grow on them as the child grows, and they won't be able to imagine him with any other nameGrin

Aww Eljkr, what a beautiful little boySmile makes me want to use it even more!

I think it sounds rough- it sounds like a bad-ass name. There is a Rocco in DD's class at school and he is really naughty but with a name like Rocco he sounds like he should be naughty.

aww thanks, Melissa0108, my mum also hated the name, she was against it from
the second I suggested it but it has grown on her!
another name just wouldn't suit him now, I'm glad I stuck with it! Go for it!

I loved Rocco when I was pregnant with DS but didn't use it, he now plays in a football team with 2 Roccos which I find amazing as I haven't met any in 10 years then we meet 2 at once.

Hate it, sorry.

I've known two Boxer dogs by that name.
