This is our shortlist. What do people prefer? How would you rank each name?

Eden. Don't like it. Makes me think of Edam cheese
Belle. Not fussed. Too popular and Meh
Imogen. I go on and off this name. At the moment I'm off.
I love Nell.
Enid is beautiful.

I like Eden, but love Imogen, if I had a DD she would be Imogen smile

OvO Thu 01-Sep-16 18:40:39

Imogen is my favourite.

They're all lovely names.

I'd rank them

MrsCaecilius Thu 01-Sep-16 18:42:03

Eden - garden of, don't like it
Enid - Blyton, too dated to me
Nell - love as a nn, too short to my ear as a full name (I have a one syllable name and it sounds deadly dull with my one syllable married name)
Imogen - absolutely love it!

Nonameyet1 Thu 01-Sep-16 19:11:26

Good views, thank you!

Eden-not keen
Enid- absolutely not
Nell-really like this
Imogen-my favourite of your options
Belle-neither like or dislike it.

I like Eden. Imogen is lovely. Enid is not my cup of tea at all.

Nonameyet1 Thu 01-Sep-16 19:24:44

Enid is the one I'm least convinced about but dh liked it so I thought I would humour him!

WaitroseCoffeeCostaCup Thu 01-Sep-16 19:25:54

Enid no no no!
The others are ok except Imogen which is so yawn (sorry!)
My favourite from the list is Eden.

LoraLoves Thu 01-Sep-16 19:56:48

Nell was on my shortlist but our baby ended up being a Tess. We liked Bess, Faye, Elise, Marie, Edie and Ida too. I would definitely consider Ida and Elise as both are beautifully classic.

Nonameyet1 Thu 01-Sep-16 20:02:08

Lora, Ida and Edie were on my original list and decided had to narrow it down a bit more, we have similar choices! Tess is lovely!

MrsGsnow18 Thu 01-Sep-16 20:04:07

Enid is beautiful!

I like Imogen too.
Belle is nice but very, very popular!
Eden is becoming very popular.
Nell is being mentioned a lot on MN at the moment too!

Loyly Thu 01-Sep-16 20:05:16

Imogen is lovely

n0ne Thu 01-Sep-16 20:11:52

Adore Enid, it was on my list for DD

heron98 Thu 01-Sep-16 20:15:38

Enid is awful. Truly.

Eden - it's a place, not a name

I like Imogen

Nell and Belle sound like abbreviations

I think all are pretty (Nell for me) apart from Enid. I sometimes wonder if those who say they love it would actually give it to their dd.

GoldFishFingerz Thu 01-Sep-16 20:26:06

Nell is stunning

Floggingmolly Thu 01-Sep-16 20:27:53

I love Imogen. I've only ever known male Eden's, so it doesn't sit right with me as a girls name.
The others are frankly hideous, sorry.

Floggingmolly Thu 01-Sep-16 20:28:46

Oh yes, Tess is lovely.

Stevefromstevenage Thu 01-Sep-16 20:30:51

I love them all and considered some of them for our dd2. Elin is another name I loved that is a bit like yours.

livinglooney8 Thu 01-Sep-16 20:31:21

Nell by miles - although prefer it as a nn for Helena.

rumblingDMexploitingbstds Thu 01-Sep-16 20:31:37

What on earth are you doing on MN with that list of perfectly lovely names??? Where are the random nouns? Surely you need a Table or a Flamingo or an Astronaut in there somewhere instead of naming your daughter something so lovely? grin

There isn't one of those you could go wrong with, I don't know how you choose between them. I love Enid, that's a special one and there won't be three of those in any classroom.

Zombieswillreign Thu 01-Sep-16 20:33:06

All of my kids have an Imogen in their class.vv popular
