Yes they are.

You do realise that when they're older and you give them a telling off, you will do that name morphing thing and call them Minnie Willie?

sonlypuppyfat Tue 23-Aug-16 20:06:36

Millie is the word we use for ehm lady parts, so millie wouldn't work in this house

MrsHulk Tue 23-Aug-16 20:17:44

Yes too similar, sorry

I think what Just said is something to really consider! I stumble over names in just that way...

SorenaJ Wed 24-Aug-16 12:38:51

Yes, I think so, when I read it I went Minnie and Willie in my head..

Lancelottie Wed 24-Aug-16 12:41:34

Yes, too similar. DD has friends Lily and Poppy whom I permanently find myself calling 'Polly and, erm, Lippy'.

pennyunwise Wed 24-Aug-16 12:43:33

I think so too, sorry

Yes. I once knew someone with a Lydia and Olivia.

It was a nightmare!

Hmmm I guess it maybe depends on your accent, but I would say probably they are a little bit too similar IMHO.

Very similar when spoken. Great excuse for child 1 to pretend she thought you were really actually speaking to child 2 when she wants to disobey an instruction etc. As well as sounding too similar, the combo is a bit too twee and cutesy for my taste - you are not naming cartoon characters - but that is a personal preference.

MrsGsnow18 Wed 24-Aug-16 22:35:47

I don't think they sound alike at all ( at least not when I say them) but if j try to say them quickly I do end up saying Minnie and Willie so I can see what other posters mean!

FrancisCrawford Wed 24-Aug-16 23:05:08

Showing my age here, but the combination made me think of Windy Miller from Camberwick Green

Xmasbaby11 Wed 24-Aug-16 23:06:05

Yes too similar.

I definitely got a willy/minnie genitalia vibe from them as a set 😬
