Names you hate!

First born is due in Dec (gender not known) and dh and I are pondering over names and he's suggested a few now that I absolutely hate - only because I know or knew somebody with that name and they were complete and utter shit heads!

They were every day names, nothing daft like Apple or Tiger Lilly but once associated with a past prize twat!! I go right off it!

Anyone else had this?

Yep. I've always always always wanted a son with a certain name. (After a dear friend who died when we were teens)
Ex vetoed it straight off as the boy he knew with that name "was a twat". :(

Harry/Hermione - Harry fucking Potter

Brian/Bruce/Brody, they're just awful names, sorry to anyone with these names

Any of the surname type names so Parker, Blake, Bailey......all terrible I'm afraid. Oh and "creative" spellings: Jorja anyone :-(

Harris. I wouldn't choose a place name, a surname, or a brand name for a first name and it's all three. That's just my preference. It has unpleasant connotations too. It makes me think of that sex offender Rolf Harris and (in some accents) it sounds like slang for arse. It's just awful.

Human names that are given to pets like Barnaby and Troy. My dsis's friend called her daughter Samantha. My parents have a tortoise with the same name.

I don't hate the name Karen, but I've never met a nice one! As for Barnaby , my DS announced one day that he was now to be called Barnaby(not his real name ,obs)- heaven knows why!😕

Reminds me when I was younger. A little boy of about 3 who lived a few doors down and about 5 years younger than myself used to come over to play post office and watch my mother wash clothes in an old fashioned twin tub. When we moved to another part of the village he used to wear a ribbon in his hair and insist he was to be called Troysmammy. He must be early 40's now and works in Tesco .

Seth, Ferris, Fraser (both could be lovely dogs!), American inventiveness (Hunter, Rain, Ocean, Phoenix, Niagara), days/months/seasons (Tuesday, April, Autumn), animals (Fawn, Bunny, Raven, Tiger) and towns (Chester Leicester Kirkenby Dale!)

Names with a V in them, especially Veronica, Vanessa and Vivienne. Or a stong "I" sound like Iris. And names with both together are the worst, especially Ivy and Violet. (shudders)
