Baby names

None are jumping out at me for no. 2!

We have a son, Patrick and I love his name so much. We don't know what this next one is, but if it's a boy I'm completely stumped!

I resorted to going through the entire spreadsheet of names from the ONS (although I got fed up at around the 2000 mark), and deleted those I didn't like. DH went through and deleted some of mine and our shortlist is below. It's just that nothing is jumping out at me and I can't imagine using any of them really.

Any more suggestions, or has anyone felt the same but eventually come up with one?!

What is it that you like about your current son's name?

This might help create criteria to shorten your long list.

Maybe it's just because it's his Wink

I like the sound of the long and short versions (he is sometimes Paddy or Patch, but usually Patrick). It is a well known name but not very common. And it's a family name.

I quite like Jude. Not Oliver so much though, but thanks!

Francis is (sort of) a family name too, but not to the extent that Patrick is. And I'm not too sure about Frankie or Frank. But I do like it. Owen is very close to my grandma's name, which is nice, but my DJ thinks it's a bit boring.

Francis has the same feel as Patrick but if you don't love it perhaps it is better as a middle name.

Owen Francis is a nice combo too.

I like Laurence, Elliot and Jonah from your list.

I know quite a lot of Patricks Grin. I also know a Patrick who has a brother Eoin (Owen), the names are nice together. From your list I love Laurence. I'm not a huge fan of Francis.

I love Elliot and Rowan from your short list.

Patrick was very high on my shortlist for both DDs 2 and 3 had they been boys.

Other names I was considering were:
Alexander, Nicholas, John, William, Xavier, Zachary, Isaac, Felix, Noah, Elliot, Robin, Nathaniel and Harrison.
