We have a 3 week old little girl. She's had a bit of a rocky start but is hopefully on the mend now. However she's still nameless and need help!

Shortlist is as follows

Cecilia /Celie
Eleanor
Iris
Willow (I know this is marmite but am very drawn to it especially because the tree is believed to have magical powers - bit ridiculous, but this touched a nerve after her rough start.)

I LOVE Willow! It was our other choice for our daughter - she ended up as Thea. Congratulations!

I love Willow. And it seems to hold the most meaning for you.
Yes it might be a Marmite name, but so what.

Also love Willow

Would fit as a middle name for Eleanor or Iris if you didn't want to use it as a first name, but I would go for it

Willow sounds perfect for her. Glad she is recovering.

Willow. I don't think it's that marmite. I think a lot of people will like it.

Eleanor or Willow would be my choice but they are all lovely names

If your heart says Willow then go with that!

They are all lovely. Personally, I don't like Eleanor as much as the others as a first name, but would definitely use it as a middle name.

If Willow has special meaning for you, I say go with that. Willow Iris sounds lovely.

We have an Eleanor Charlotte (known as Ella). You can also have Nell/Ellie etc... So I'm a bit biased but all your names are really lovely. I would go for Eleanor Willow or Iris Eleanor... actually I would be hard pressed to decide. You seem really drawn to Willow!

Willow is my favourite; then Eleanor.

Eleanor (although it's very popular), in its entirety. No nicknames.
Don't like your other names, sorry.

I like Cecilia.

I'm due soon and have almost decided on Cassia (Cassie) which fits in with your list? It's a flower name and very unusual.

I love Cecilia!! I really wanted it for dd but wasn't allowed. I think any of them but Eleanor really, she would be one of a great many Ellies which would be a shame when the other three are so lovely.

I think Willow Eleanor sounds beautiful. Elegant, different, but not too out there. Just googled and Eleanor apparently means shining light or bright one, which seems to go really well with your reasons for choosing Willow too.

Very best wishes to you all and your baby dd. Do let us know what you choose!

Thanks everyone! Much less opposition to Willow than I'd thought there might be.

I think we're going to go with it.
