Excellent!

I already have a daughter, whose name is much more popular in mainland Europe than in the UK (it's just outside the top 100 here, but in the top 20 in a few other countries) and was thinking that an equally European sort of name would be fitting for a future (currently hypothetical) sibling.

One thing though, I prefer the Dutch/German/Swedish/Spanish pronunciation of the name, rather than the French.

So ah-nook (as in nook in a house) rather than ah-nuke.

That would be fine, right?

Oh yes, definitely ah-nook.

I would def pronounce AH-nook when seeing it written down. I love it! Very unusual Star

Is it a boys or girl name? I love it btw

I always thought it was a nickname for Anoushka, is it not? I like both btw?

It's a diminutive of Anna apparently, so makes sense it is one of Anouska too!

I'm not so keen on Anouska. Though quite like that if I do go on to have another daughter and use Anouk, both my daughters will have names which are Russian diminutives, as well as being used as standalone names elswhere. Matchy...but in a niche way Grin

I like Anoush, a lovely Russian friend is called that. I don't like the "ook" sound of Anouk.

I know a gorgeous little Anouk. Had never heard the name before, so I could be biased, but I really like it. It's easy to remember and say, it's uncommon without being outlandish, and it has a pleasant sound.

I like it. I remember a singer with that name.

A friend had a dog with this name so for me it's a no. I also think a lifetime of telling people how's it spelt/pronounced would be a pain in the bum! But if you love it go for it 🙂
