Baby names

Florence or Clara? A sibling for Beatrice

We are finding it difficult to choose a name for our second baby (another girl). We have a Beatrice so we need a name that goes with that. We like Florence and Clara so it would be great to know which you prefer and also if you can think of any other names that go well with Beatrice. Thanks

Florence for me. I love it and it goes well with Beatrice.

Clara is lovely but I don't think it fits as well.

How about:
Annabel
Charlotte
Ruth
Ruby
Julia
Emilia

Florence is the best by far though imo

See I would say Clara as it's equally as unusual, whereas Florence is much more commonly used. I also love Annabel...

Clara. Florence is just too popular...
But I agree with the people that suggested Annabelle. That's also lovely! :)

Florence is waaay too popular right now, not loving Clara, sounds like a harsh word if that makes sense?!

I love the name Clara! It's beautiful and rarely used.

Thanks for the replies. I love Annabel but DH is not as keen. It's interesting to know what people think about Florence versus Clara.

I like both but would say Clara as its less used.
I know a Beatrice whose sibling is Olivia.
I suggest Claudia, Elizabeth, Rebecca and Evangeline.

I like Clara.

I think Florence goes better with Beatrice.

I've met lots of Claras, but no Florences, so I don't think of Florence as being popular. Maybe it depends on where you live.

Other suggestions are Helena, Rosalind or Cressida.

I like Clara better.

Florence only has naff nicknames, too (Florrie and Flo?)

I love Clara and I think it goes with Beatrice (I can't really explain why though).

I'm not overly keen on Florence due to nickname potential (I know one who is called Flossie!)

Btw, what about Flora? I feel like it has some of the simplicity of Clara, it obviously has a connection to Florence but isn't that popular.

And Flora MacDonald is a really cool namesake (DH was actually not happy at all when he realised that we couldn't use the name Flora...)

Clara is lovely, not keen on Florence.

How about Lydia?

Clara- I LOVE Clara!

Clara. It is so elegant.

I don't think Florence is nice - it is neither pretty or elegant. It is just long(ish).

Thanks again for the replies. So helpful! I'm surprised by people's views on Florence. I'm glad I asked!

Oh yes, Lydia is also gorgeous. Either Clara or Lydia with Beatrice would be divine!

I'm biased as my 6week old is called Clara :-) but it is a beautiful name.
