Husband and I are really struggling with a name for our DD (due November)... thought we'd cracked it with Hazel but husband is now unsure!

We're looking for strong, non-cutesy names with a traditional feel that aren't too popular. Surname is three syllables and begins with A which puts a lot of A ending names out.

Any help hugely appreciated! smile

Hazel is lovely, it's so uncommon these days. However, it would be a bit odd if they had piercing blue eyes! grin
I used to work with a Hazel who was one of the kindest, most lovely people you could meet.

Hazel cheerleading greatly appreciated so I can read it out to him and get him back on-side grin

Oh also, totally agree about Hazel being odd with blue eyes... we have hazel eyes and red hair throughout our family so hoping she'll be the same! And born in autumn/winter too... sigh. You can see why I love Hazel so much!

Reading your last post describing colouring and due date, the name Bronwyn popped into my head grin

NapQueen Sat 18-Jun-16 09:41:35

What about Hazel Faye Surname?

coppergrey Sat 18-Jun-16 11:18:09

I love Bronwyn! Not sure husband will agree but it's on the list. Thanks, Once!

Nap, that combination has been suggested a few times. I'll keep plugging it wink

My youngest's middle name is Bronwyn. I like it smile

Really like the babe Hazel, not too common these days either

TheNaze73 Sat 18-Jun-16 16:14:25

Babe?? Name I meant. Dann autocorrect!

TheNaze73 Sat 18-Jun-16 16:15:04

Damn!!! I give up!

Awarding myself a biscuit

Tartyflette Sat 18-Jun-16 16:26:52

I'm trying to think of the cadence to go with your three-syllable surname, and I think a two-syllable first name works quite well, as in
'dee-dee da-DA-da', (not the actual name Dee Dee grin) if the emphasis in on the second syllable of your surname.
So --
Carrie
Willow
Rosie
Holly
Ginny
But these might work also
Sage
Cicely
Liesl
Florence
