Archie or Conor?

After thoroughly discounting Blake, these are currently on the shortlist. I prefer the name Archie, but am concerned it is a bit trendy and not fit for an adult. I have Irish heritage an like the idea of having an Irish name, hence Conor. Opinions..?

Conor by a long way.

The only thing is you'll need to be prepared to correct the spelling quite often if you are in the UK as most people will instinctively spell it Connor.

I have a nearly 2 yr old Archie
and don't think the name is so over

I'm in the SE and go to a lot of baby groups and I've genuinely never come across another one smile

Conor is dated. Archie a bit less so.

Conor

Conor if I had to choose.

Really dislike Archie and agree it's starting to sound dated. Also don't like the full name Archibald!

MitzyLeFrouf Thu 16-Jun-16 13:53:44

Conor.

Archie is just too cutsie for me.

I prefer Archie , I don't hear of many but I do see it's a bit Alfie and there are loads of those. I'm just not mad on Conor generally though tbh .

Prefer Conor of the two as can't stand names ending in 'ie'. I don't know any little Conors, only teenage ones, so think that name has had its day round these parts

Thanks for the feedback. DH and i have very different taste in names so finding anything we agree on is tough. Neither of us is getting a name we 'love' hmm

Archie, yes, it's had quite a time in the sun recently, but it is still a really sound and lovely name.
