DS2 is a week old and still has no name. The only name on DH's shortlist is Blake. I'm not convinced, I'm not sure i like the 'bl' sound! I fear if we don't go with it, poor DS will forever remain nameless... what do you guys think of the name?

Sunshinegirl2 Tue 07-Jun-16 18:26:09 sorry.

Reminds me of Amy Winehouses ex. blush

hiddengems Tue 07-Jun-16 18:35:38

He'll always be Blake Carrington to me.

And I know an Alexes and a Fallon confused

Tiggeryoubastard Tue 07-Jun-16 18:36:52

God no! It's bloody awful. So many nice names out there, why saddle him with that?

TheDuchyOfGrandFenwick Tue 07-Jun-16 18:38:04

Awful name.

Torfhinn Tue 07-Jun-16 18:44:38

That's what i thought confused

At least i can show this to DH!

Any suggestions then? DH doesn't like 'old fashioned' or religious names, sibling is Leo...

My current favourite is Max

I dislike it, reminds me of 'flake'.

Although I do like Blake

Babettescat Tue 07-Jun-16 18:53:19

My my ...

It reminds me of the poet William Blake. Whose work and philosophy in his day and age, I admire.

AnnieOnAMapleLeaf Tue 07-Jun-16 18:54:56

Well, it appears I am in the minority but I love the name Blake. A close family member is Blake and its a great name for a boy.

ListenToYourHeart Tue 07-Jun-16 18:59:51

I like Blake.

It was a short list for a boys name for me 6 years ago but then I had a DD grin

lovelychops Tue 07-Jun-16 19:12:03

He was a character on home and away in the early 90's. And it's horrible. Sorry.

Sophronia Tue 07-Jun-16 19:24:13

I think it's ok

DaemonPantalaemon Tue 07-Jun-16 19:28:31

If his surname is Carrington, Blake will do wonderfully.
Or you could call him Sayer, and have Leo and Sayer in the family.
Or go for Theo. Leo and Theo. Or Neo.

pollylovespie Tue 07-Jun-16 19:30:05

It's really bad, sorry. Max is lovely.

Ditsy4 Tue 07-Jun-16 19:36:29

I know one. I quite like it although I wouldn't chose it myself.

HainaultViaNewburyPark Tue 07-Jun-16 19:38:45

Jacob? With the NN Jake. Similar to Blake, but without the 'b' sound.

lordStrange Tue 07-Jun-16 19:45:17

I think it's classy. Blake Carrington? WTF grandma grin

lordStrange Tue 07-Jun-16 19:47:31

Call him Otis. Love Otis.

sixinabed Tue 07-Jun-16 19:47:31

I like it!

LadyAntonella Tue 07-Jun-16 19:50:08

Dislike (sorry). I hate the phrase 'try hard' but I think it is a bit...

Otis on the other hand is just lovely.

Tiggeryoubastard Tue 07-Jun-16 19:59:38

Classy? shock completely the opposite.

AnotherEmma Tue 07-Jun-16 20:09:05

Leo is my favourite boy's name. Who picked it, you or DH? Or both?

I like Max too, and it goes well with Leo. What does your DH say about Max?

What other names are on your shortlist? Do you like James, Robin, Saul, Toby...

LadyAntonella Tue 07-Jun-16 20:10:55

I also love Leo.
