I love it! Would have used it but it rhymes with the name of someone else in our family!

Are you going to name his siblings Walter and Jesse? Or maybe Gus- or is that the pet hamster?

I only know one Saul who is a truly vile individual. That would put me off the name, I'm afraid.

We know a nice 12yo with this name. Unfortunately his mom seems a bit (urk) which has put me off a bit.

Grin wouldn't that be a small world?

Really dislike it. I went to school with a very odd Saul so it makes me think of him. And Better Call Saul also.

I also knew a Saul who I wasn't a huge fan of.

Setting that aside, I think it's quite a nice name.

Biblically Saul doesn't have great connotations unfortunately.

However I did meet a little Sol (Solomon) recently, which I thought was fab.

Report
julfin · 22/05/2016 07:41

Yes I'm much more a fan of Sol too

Why do people persist in telling ops on baby names "i know someone called that and they're a dick so i dont like it." How is that relevant to anything?!

It's a good name op. Another famous saul - slash from guns n roses. It's unusual and not too over used.

Report
lljkk · 22/05/2016 08:08

Because people are superstitious about names, Neorainbow. We associate names with personality traits we have known.

Report
neonrainbow · 22/05/2016 08:49

That's just stupid. Theres loads of horrible people out there each with a name. The op will never meet these supposedly horrible sauls so why does it matter to her? I know a right bitch called charlotte but i don't go on Charlotte threads going i know a really nasty Charlotte as though that should make a difference to the op.

Choice of name will not influence a childs personality one jot. Especially when the op will never meet them!

And no offence but your post is probably the least relevant because you like the saul you know but don't like his mum. What's that got to do with anything at all?!
