Raphaelle/Raphael

I think I've decided on this.

The variation will depend on sex of the baby (team yellow)

Do you like it better than Alabama? Grin

Alabama is awful, sorry. I love Raphael but not Raphaelle which sounds exactly the same so will cause issues for the child (people assuming she's male).

I love it Smile

Rafaella Is on our list if DC2 is a girl

I love it for a boy. Prefer Raphaella for a girl. And er, yes, better than Alabama, by a long way.

Beautiful. If I had a second DC I would probably go for this. The only thing I would say, with a dd who already has an -elle name, is that you and she will be constantly saying 'No, RaphaELLE, not RaphaellA.' And bizarrely, people won't believe you/listen and still use -a.

They are both lovely names, and come from the hebrew to heal, rapha.
Hoping the birth goes well .
ps if I've missed previous threads on this sorry!

Thanks for all views, I do like Raphaella but it sounds awful when said in our local accent which made us decide upon Raphaelle.

Raphael - great but may often be spelt Rafael which might annoy some people.
Raphaelle - in the UK I think most people will assume her name is Raphael. Raffaella is the safer bet but not sure on the spelling.

Alabama is so different to Raphael! This is a UK website so place names won't go down as well as on US naming sites. If I was forced to pick a "place name" Alabama certainly wouldn't feature on my list.

I have a 4 day old Raphael snoozing on me Smile- I love it. We're mixing Raphael and Raffy at the moment.

Ha ha yes much better!

I absolutely love Raphael - it would be on my list but DH isn't a fan.

Had never thought of Raphaelle for a girl before, but I think it's really lovely. I say go for it!

Thanks all Smile

I'm thinking of Raphaelle Marie Rose for a girl.

Could you help me out with suggestions for MN for a boy? We seem to have used up all decent/notable family ones already as this baby is DC 5.

I absolutely love Raphael for a boy. Although, unlike most, I prefer the Rafael spelling.

Not sure for a girl, tbh. Maybe Rafaella?

I just have to add that Alabama Raphaelle sounds pretty good...

Good names. Way better than Alabama!

Alabama is awful sorry Confused

Raphaelle for a girl sounds too similar to Raphael for me, and therefore too masculine, but i love Raphaella

i also wouldn't go with Marie Rose as the middle names, i imediatley thought of Marie Rose Sauce (ie, the sauce that comes on prawn cocktails Confused) Perhaps either choose one or swap the order?
