Thinking of calling number 3 Charlie with Chuck for short. What's your honest opinion of Chuck! Not sure if hormone craziness if affecting my opinion! Lol

Chuck is awful.

Chuck is beyond awful. Sorry. Chuck is something you throw into the bin. Do you want your child to be associated with rubbish?

Chuck?
Chuck??

Why?

Charles is nice, with Charlie for short, and Chuck if you still like it once the progesterone has worn off!
Chuck is disastrous imo.

I know two Chucks - both American. It doesn't seem to fit with a British person but I guess that's just because I don't know of any.

I don't dislike it but the two Chucks I know are both lovely guys so it has positive associations. I'd give Charles as a full name though as I think people would naturally assume that it was his given name.

Chuck... Like Norris???

I'd go for Charles / Charlie too. Chuck in the UK is Corrie (though I was thinking Bet Lynch), throwing something away or spewing.

I'm afraid I'd think it was a nickname that had arisen because it was a spectacularly vomitous baby.

Hell no to Chuck!

NOooo
Be still my heart! When I was pregnant I watched Gossip Girl and I loved Chuck. I would so use Chuck if I liked Charles
Same with Chip...can you use that instead>

Definitely not Chuck. Chas, maybe?

Charlie is already short for Charles, of which Chuck is another nn, personally it's awful and I wouldn't use it. Has lots of of scope for bullies. Charlie is lovely so would stick with that.

Isn't Charlie already a nn? I mean, maybe you could go for Char? I know a woman called Char (her real name is actually Charlotte...), but I personally don't like Chuck.

My dc 3 (ds2) is charlie. Deliberately chosen as I dislike charles, and my older ds's name is more common as a nick/shortened name than as a full name. We do abbreviate his name to Chuck, charlie chuckles, Norris (as in chuck Norris) and char-char. Not that I'm proud of any of these mind.....but as you know once they're there in the home their names 'evolve' into these nicknames. Judging from the comments above, maybe I should rethink Grin

I don't like Charlie at all (sorry) and Chuck would make me think of steak! Probably just me though. Smile

Btw, there are much worse nns than Chuck imo. I don't really like Chuck, but it's not awful.

And if I meet a cute baby/toddler named Chuck I'll probably think it's cute :)
