Name a boy

We have Taylor Jean for a girl. She would be called Taylor Jean exclusively. Our other children are Greer Charlotte and Tomlin Michael. A boy is proving to be harder to name! I liked Leigh Charles for a bit and Garrison Caleb, Dexter Nicholas, Sinclair Robert, Henderson Christopher, Lincoln Joshua, Kingston Anthony and Colton Patrick have all been on my shortlist.

Hmm not sure. Are you in the US op?

Your names mostly sound very American to me - not that its a bad thing...

Why do you have a different middle name for each first name? Hmm

Dexter is the only one of the boy's names I like. Taylor Jean is pretty.

I like Kingston Anthony and Colton Patrick. Especially Colton Patrick; cute for a child, nn 'Colt', but also manly in full for an adult

My little boy is Seth Walter-Paul

Prefer all second names.

The only one I like of the first names is Lincoln. Don't like the others.

Anything but garrison.

Presumably the different middle names are because you are planning to use both the names (like Taylor Jean)?

If so, I like Colton Patrick and, possibly, Dexter Nicholas. I'm not sure the others flow well, tbh. Taylor Jean is gorgeous. Cute bt also sophisticated somehow.

You could use Taylor Jean for a boy too??

How about:
Harrison Paul
Atticus Blake
Grayson Frank
Zachary Fitch
Elliot Cane
Mason Blair
Morgan Joel
Jefferson Samuel
Solomon Jude
Justice Mitchell
West Nathaniel

With your elder DCs, does everyone (including outside the family) always call them by both names in full? Or do they get abbreviated at all?

Also interested to know if you're American...?

I agree with pp re: anything but garrison.

Can I also ask what your inspiration is? All your first names (which sound like surnames) are presumably taken from specific people in history etc. What about your second names - are they just names that you like, or are they likewise taken from specific people? Is there a rationale why certain first names have been matched up with certain second names? Do you just want our opinions on whether the combinations sound nice? I'm only asking all these Qs because it feels to me that these names have a certain logic to them and I don't feel fully able to offer an opinion without understanding broadly what the logic is - if that makes sense.

Hey ,
So, I'm not American but my husband is American and we spend a lot of time there.
Greer goes by Greer most of the time but is occasionally Greer Charlotte. Tomlin is just Tomlin. Taylor Jean would be that because I know a lot of male Taylor's and I think Taylor Jean is more feminine. Tomlin occasionally gets abbreviated to Tom, TomTom, Little Tom and Tommy but Greer is just Greer or Greer Charlotte. Tomlin is DH's Grandad's name. Greer was taken from Greer Garston. The middle names are classics that we like taken from our family trees. I match certain names with others because I only like certain names with others. I want to know your favourite names and why you don't like the other names. I like Mason Blair, Elliott Cane and West Nathaniel. Harrison Paul is LOVELY!

Thanks, that helps Grin

Of your middle names, I love Joshua, Caleb, Nathaniel and Robert. Of your first names I love Lincoln and like Sinclair. Lukewarm on the rest.

I'd choose Lincoln Joshua, which I think sounds totally fab. I think Lincoln would also sound good with Nathaniel or Robert (but best with Joshua).

Sinclair Robert is great too. Or I think Sinclair sounds good with Joshua or Nathaniel.

(Caleb unfortunately doesn't work well with Lincoln or Sinclair - too many Cs and Ls. I am Not A Fan of Garrison, which you've paired Caleb with. But I think Harrison Caleb would be good. In fact I'm hoping Garrison was a typo and you meant Harrison Grin)

Ps I like Taylor as a girls' name, with or without Jean. I think it's one of those rare names that works equally well for girls or boys. So I wouldn't be fussed if other people didn't always include the Jean.
