Baby names

I don't know if we are brave enough to use this name!

We went on a trip to Australia; there's a really beautiful bird - we feel in love with the name of it, so it's basically a nature name!

There was only 5 girls given the name in 2014, in the UK...

The name is Rosella...

I'm just not sure we are brave enough to use it though! I love that she could be called Rose/Rosie/Ella/Elle/Ellie, etc.

I'd call her by Rosella though, maybe Rose for short.

We have not told family yet, but I know my mum will hate it.

What do you think? If not, she'll probably be Darcy.

I prefer Rosella. It's pretty. Prof you're not convinced what about Rose Ella? And then she can be Rosie etc for short

It's lovely! It's unusual but it's not absurd, I think most people, myself included, wouldn't think it's too 'out there ' at all. Go for it!

I really REALLY like it!! And I am quite traditional. Although it very unusual, the nick names are all very mainstream. And lovely. Don't tell your mum until the baby is here, it will be easier for her to stomach Wink

Would you pronounce it Rose-Ella or Roz-Ella? That's probably a silly question but I'm curious Smile I like it, either way!

It's lovely! And because it is reminiscent of more usual names it doesn't sound at all out there or crazy.

I love it!

It's lovely. I used to babysit a Rosella about 20 or more years ago! She will be nearly 30 now. I have never come across another one. It's a lovely name.

I love it, and I'm not one for strange names. But it sounds like it could be a name, and I don't think people will have too many problems pronouncing it either - go for it!

Yay!

I know, the birds are gorgeous! Which definitely helps Smile

I probably won't tell my mum, but I might, but if I'm at the stage of telling family, I won't care what they say as it will be her name! I'm near the end anyway, I just really want her to have a name for when she is here Smile

It's also a brand of tomato sauce in Australia.
-and it sounds like a medical condition--
