What do you think of the above name? Having twin boy and girl and have decided on Polly for our girl. Do you like Polly and Bram? X

MitzyLeFrouf Sat 23-Apr-16 21:47:22

I love, love, love the name Bram.

Good choice!

Alisvolatpropiis Sat 23-Apr-16 21:55:31

Yes!

Great name, works with Polly, good nickname.

I know a little Abraham, he goes by Abe. Suits him.

Sophronia Sat 23-Apr-16 22:00:43

I like it. I'd prefer Penelope and Abraham nn Polly and Bram.

SirChenjin Sat 23-Apr-16 22:04:25

Like Bram Stoker?

No, don't like it at all, sounds like Pram or Bran. Love Abe though.

Alisvolatpropiis Sat 23-Apr-16 22:06:51

Well Bran is itself a Welsh name prn Brahn, means Raven.

It is also unfortunately quite synonymous with a breakfast cereal.

Abraham is surely most likely to be called Abe?
It's a good name though.

Louise267 Sat 23-Apr-16 22:12:22

Bram and Abe are both shortenings. Do like both though

Louise267 Sat 23-Apr-16 22:14:56

Yeah like bram stoker. He was an Abraham

NannyR Sat 23-Apr-16 22:34:07

In the bible, Abraham was originally called Abram - that might work better if you want Bram as a nickname.

Oh wow, love Polly and Bram they are perfect together! Abe is also good as is Abram!

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe Sun 24-Apr-16 16:44:02

You can have Bramley for a girl.

Love Bram. Not keen on Polly.

A4Document Sun 24-Apr-16 17:26:49

I like Abraham, with Abe for short. Bram reminds me of bran and getting enough fibre! I like Bramley but to me, it's a surname and apple, rather than a first name. Not keen on Polly I'm afraid, sorry. I like the suggestion of Penelope (Penny) or how about Philippa (Pippa)?

Abraham is a great name

serin Mon 25-Apr-16 22:21:29

Oooh! I grew up in a village called Abram!

I like the name Bram. Goes well with Polly.

I know an incredibly cool elderly Abraham who has always gone as Braham, which I think is likewise pretty cool. Bram also good.

AGnu Mon 25-Apr-16 22:49:52

I adore it. DH doesn't, sadly, or one of our DSs would be Bram, the other probably Moses. I so should've snuck out & registered them when he wasn't looking! wink

Gummibaers Tue 26-Apr-16 13:55:07

I really l ike Abraham.

But I pronounce it with the emphasis on the ABE so would probably shorten to Abe or Abrie.

unicornthong Tue 26-Apr-16 21:47:31

Pram and Brolly blush

I absolutely love both names though!

VinceNoirLovesHowardMoon Wed 27-Apr-16 07:06:29

I don't like bram. Abe is nice though

HeteronormativeHaybales Wed 27-Apr-16 07:10:29

^^ What Vince said (I don't think that's the first time I've posted that smile <waves at Vince> )

Abraham is fabulous, though, and I like Polly - though not sure the two names really 'go' togther - though perhaps just as well, as it'll be good to emphasise their individuality.

I always thought I would call boy/girl twins Thomas and Tamsin, which is very much not individuality-emphasising blush

KoalaDownUnder Wed 27-Apr-16 07:15:46

Loooove Bram.

The Bram I know has a sister called Romy.
