Middle name for Mabel

Expecting baby number 3, don't know if it's a boy or girl. I thought we had settled on a girls name when DH says he still loves our original choice that we picked. I had been 'put off' the name due to family's reaction as they had bad associations with the name because of a family member - who I never met! But after discussing with DH I still really love the name and we decided that family members will come around - we are not going to tell them until she is here (if it's a girl).
We have chosen the name Mabel. I know lots of people on mumsnet dislike this name and think its an old lady name but that doesn't bother me.

I just want some opinions on a middle name for Mabel. As It's an old lady name I would like something feminine. Here are some ideas I have, some are family names.

Mabel Rose
Mabel Alice
Mabel Eloise
Mabel Aurora / Aurelia
Mabel Jane
Mabel Hope

Please choose the one you like the best or suggest new ideas, thank you :)

Even though it is the default middle name I think Mabel Rose is nice. I love Aurelia and Eloise but they are are too pretty to follow Mabel. Aurelia Mabel would be nice.

Mabel Elspeth
Mabel Violet
Mabel Annabel

What do you mean by default middle name? That it is the one that everyone uses as a mn?
Aurelia Mabel is lovely, but we are set on using Mabel as a first name.

My Great grandmother was called Hilda Violet Mabel ....So Mabel Violet would be a nice nod to her.

Default middle name just means that it is a very common middle name at the moment.

Much like Louise & Jane in the 70's and 80's.

That said - default middle names don't worry me - and Mabel Rose flows the nicest of the names on your list Grin.

I know of one other baby Mabel - around 9 months old.

Yes, Rose, Grace, May/Mae, James are very very popular as middle names to the point that most new babies I know have one of those as their md. When I was born it was Louise, Jane, Marie, Ann & John. However, as I said I think Mabel Rose is very nice. As names I much Prefer Eloise and Aurelia but with Mabel I would choose Rose out of your shortlist.

That is what I thought was meant by default mn. It was my sister that suggested Rose as a mn, as she thought it went best with Mabel.
Aurelia and Eloise are beautiful names I just can't get DH to agree to many names (very frustrating for me!). My children are called Charlie and Tilly
Charlie, Tilly and Mabel
Charlie, Tilly and Eloise
Charlie, Tilly and Aurelia

Thank you for your honest opinions and suggestions :)

My Grandfather really wanted my parents to call me Mabel, and everytime ive thought about it now and when i was a child im so grateful they didnt. Ive actually still got an 'old lady' name but a much nicer one. Please reconsider. Of the ones discussed Aurelia is such a pretty, special name!
