My great, great grandfathers name but is it too 'old fashioned'? What do you think?

DP and I also like Marc, Matthew, Joseph and Caleb.

I'm in Scotland and know a few Duncans from all ages. Personally I'm not keen on it for a child but nothing wrong with it either.

It's awful.

Use it as a middle name if you must.

Awful.

Matthew is lovely.

Sorry it's awful. It's the name of a 60 year old man.

My dad is called Malcolm and he is the most interesting, enthusiastic person you could ever meet.

I like it!

Sorry I hate that name too, Matthew is nice. But it's your baby so go for it. My kids have marmite names too mad I couldn't care less as I love them

Middle name, yes. First name, no.

It's a no from me! Oh Malcolm!

No. Use it as a second name.
Matthew is lovely.

Matthew is much better.

Unpopular for a reason. It's awful. I'm old enough to remember a certain advert from the past for Vicks Nasal spray featuring a grown up mummy's boy with a very blocked nose called Malcolm. That's all I think of when I hear the name.
Don't let that put you off though if you genuinely love it, use it.

Matthew or Caleb.

I hate it sorry. When anyone was clumsy we used to call them Malcolm (as in Malcoordinated (sp?)

My DH s called Malcolm and there's not much I can do about that, but I wouldn't inflict it on a new generation.

Malcolm is truly awful.

I'm not keen. I know a few Malcs - that's what they get called - all older men.

Some old man names I get, but I'm struggling with Malcolm. That said, Its your choice and I don't think your son will be one if several Malcolm when he gets to school.Smile

My dad was Malcolm. He hated it. I didn't like it either it was way too dull of a name for the colourful man he was! I won't even use it as a middle name if I have a boy as I worry they will hate it too. Sorry 😳
