which do you prefer?

Paddletonio Sun 13-Mar-16 18:24:24

Amelie but both nice

VinceNoirLovesHowardMoon Sun 13-Mar-16 18:25:08

Neither tbh
Both massively overrated and overused these days, however if you have to, Esme

DontKillMyVibe Sun 13-Mar-16 18:27:11

Both are very popular now but I prefer Esme. I love it as a name and it was on my list though have crossed it off due to overuse (and DP not liking it)

Amelie, don't like Esme.

They are both beautiful!
I would choose esme only because it's a family name

DramaAlpaca Sun 13-Mar-16 18:31:16

If I had to choose it'd be Esme.

I think Amelie sounds much nicer in a French accent than a British one.

Much of a muchness between them imo, both nice names but quite popular. I'd lean towards Esme.

Sophronia Sun 13-Mar-16 19:03:29

Neither, but Esme if I had to pick.

mrsschu Sun 13-Mar-16 19:06:03

Love them both but Amelie edges it for me. In spite of them being "hugely popular" I have yet to meet any babies called either name and I'm in London.

Esme gets my vote

applecatchers36 Sun 13-Mar-16 19:26:50

Another vote for Esme

AlleyCatandRastaMouse Sun 13-Mar-16 19:27:38

Esme but they are both pretty.

Shesinfashion Sun 13-Mar-16 19:27:48

Neither but if pushed, Esme.

Summ3r Sun 13-Mar-16 20:16:53

Love esme

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost Sun 13-Mar-16 20:20:27

Esme. Amelie is like Emily gone wrong.

RockUnit Sun 13-Mar-16 21:09:03

Amelie (or even better, Amelia or Emily).

I don't like Esme, it sounds harsh.

LynetteScavo Sun 13-Mar-16 21:15:23

It's very pretty.

MamaLazarou Sun 13-Mar-16 22:00:17

I dislike both. How about Amalia?

Ilovenannyplum Sun 13-Mar-16 22:01:43

Amelie - it's very pretty

Esme is really lovely (as is Amelie) but I would worry people would mishear and say Emily instead of Amelie (silly things like that get to me hehe xx)
