What do you think of this name? What does it evoke to you?

MeganChips Tue 08-Mar-16 20:22:53

I love it!

It evokes images of my Dad's handsome friend which is probably not very helpful, sorry grin

ChildlessAndOK Tue 08-Mar-16 20:27:43

I love it too. smile

ParsleyTheLion1 Tue 08-Mar-16 20:28:43

Ha ha! I can cope with handsome, definitely....

I was hoping debonair may play too....

SirChenjin Tue 08-Mar-16 20:30:08

I'm currently reading the Famous Five series to DC3 and it evokes an image of a stuck up, bossy, know it all grin

Like Jules though - the bloke from Devon on DIY SOS is called Jules and he's lovely and a complete hoot.

I like it - am a big Famous Five fan! smile

ParsleyTheLion1 Tue 08-Mar-16 20:39:59

I like Jules too because I ADORE jewellery and phonetical link
I too read Famous 5 but had forgotten there was a Julian

TheFridgePickersKnickers Tue 08-Mar-16 20:43:03

Dick George Ann and Timothy (Timmy) the doggrin

Another big famous five fan!

TheFridgePickersKnickers Tue 08-Mar-16 20:43:31

Julian was the older sensible one!

Vixxfacee Tue 08-Mar-16 20:44:01

Really hate it.

Sprongpicnic Tue 08-Mar-16 20:44:08

Excellent name

SirChenjin Tue 08-Mar-16 20:44:37

He was the PITA know-it-all grin

wombthereitis Tue 08-Mar-16 20:46:11

It's a bit flowery for me. I prefer Jude.

ParsleyTheLion1 Tue 08-Mar-16 20:46:31

whats PITA?

I rather fancied him when I was 10. Don't tell anybody.

nectarini1983 Tue 08-Mar-16 20:49:45

Not for me...I always think 'camp'. Same as I think for Adrian...IMO

RudeElf Tue 08-Mar-16 20:50:38

I think assange when i hear julian. Sorry.

ParsleyTheLion1 Tue 08-Mar-16 20:52:41

mmm...thats what I fear too RudeElf.
but then I hope that by the time Julian is teenager Assange will be minor blip unknown to his contemporaries. here's hoping...
Maybe he'll still be holed up in the embassy!!

VocationalGoat Tue 08-Mar-16 20:53:44

One of my favourites.
I love Julian, Adrian, Jude...

LittleBlackTrilby Tue 08-Mar-16 20:54:14

To me it's a very wet, weedy, effete upper middle class RP type name. The kind of teenage boy with a floppy fringe who clicks his fingers to get a waitresses' attention.

Mouthfulofquiz Tue 08-Mar-16 20:55:20

That gorgeous actor from The Green Wing who played Dr Mac is called Julian. It's a great name!

RudeElf Tue 08-Mar-16 20:56:00

Yes and unlikely his peers will know who julian assange was/is by the time they are old enough to care.

I'm sure there are lovely famous julians too. Julian clary is the only one i can think of. Or julian simmons.

ParsleyTheLion1 Tue 08-Mar-16 20:57:09

ha ha! I chuckled at that description of the floppy haired teen.... I could cope with the floppy, rakish hair...

Are you describing sebastian flyte out of ... oo... I've forgotten! arggh!

ParsleyTheLion1 Tue 08-Mar-16 20:57:31

Julian Barnes one of my fave authors

LittleBlackTrilby Tue 08-Mar-16 21:00:27

I know the thing you mean but can't remember the name, have never seen it.

And I bloody hate Julian Barnes' writing. grin

Different strokes!
