Due a little girl in July and thinking about names. Big brother is Edward (Teddy) Gregory....

Currently on the shortlist are. Unsurprisingly Helene (with accents!) is my french family name which I would like to use.

Zoe Helene
Rose (Rosie) Helene
Blythe Helene

preference and alternatives appreciated!

Rose. I like Zoe though it doesn't go quite as well with Edward. Not keen on Blythe at all.

Rose Helene

Of your three I thin I prefer Rose Helene.

As for alternatives, I've just had an Edward and if he'd been a girl I think he'd have been named Cassie (possibly Cassidy in full) don't think that's to everyone's tastes though.

great, thanks for the (almost) consensus. I quite like Cassie (and in fact Carrie) but they feel quite American to me...similarly Jemima doesn't work with its various connotations there. Will keep thinking though!

I don't really like any of the first names (none anywhere near as good as Teddy imvho) but love Helene. Edward Gregory is an awesome name - and I don't think your girl choices yet live up to that.

Cassie is gorgeous. Could go with Cassandra as full name to avoid the American feel. I like Carrie too.

I know a Teddy whose little sister is Tessa/Tess, which like.

But I do love Zoe.

Jassy - not sure I'm up for alliterative names Teddy/Tessa etc. But thanks for the suggestion!

Sylvie is lovely but the name of a good friend's DD ...

Remus - good constructive criticism! need to be inspired by another Helene prefix!

How about Laurie?

Catherine Helene (Kitty) I think would go with an Edward (Teddy).

Sort of a cute nickname, with a very classic full version of the name.

Zoe or Rose/Rosie are both lovely. And Helene is gorgeous too. Don't like Blythe at all.

I know someone with a Rose who is having a Ted

Other girls names they liked are Kate, Sylvie and Iris.

Teddy and Rosie is such a cute combo - and Edward and Rose is lovely when they don't want to be cute ;)

I like Rose, Zoe, Blythe in that order.

I do love Edward Gregory. Hard to follow!

Jemima is also on my list - haven't checked out the connotations though?! At the moment all I can think of is Puddleduck...

Laurie is also on my list - for boy or girl.

One of my good friends also has a Sylvie.
