Love Ed, Eddie, Ted, Teddy, Ned.

I really like names with options - Ted, Eddie etc.

Do you think the Twilight association is still there? I hadn't thought of that at all. I work with young children and have yet to come across a young Edward or Ethan.

Edward. Ethan is very very faddy. I know three Ethans under two but have never met an adult one. Edward is more classic and timeless.

Edward. It's lovely, timeless. You can be a baby/teen/ adult Edward.

Edward nn Eddie

I have an Edward and it is popular but not because of twilight (I thought the first book was terrible). I teach about 5 14 year old Ethan's. I prefer Edward but only one Ethan is naughty!

I like Edward, I wouldn't have made the twilight association anymore, I definitely don't know any little Edwards, and I wish I did!

redexpat Sat 20-Feb-16 11:32:30

Edward. More classic.

Bluesand1 Sat 20-Feb-16 12:41:43

Ethan is a biblical name from the old testament. I have never heard it called faddy before....

stitchglitched Sat 20-Feb-16 12:44:00

I have an Edward, known as Eddie, and we rarely come across any others.

KatieT12 Sat 20-Feb-16 12:49:59

Edward, if he's Teddy! I love that smile

Ethan is lovely too!

You can't go wrong...

I like both but prefer Ethan.

sofato5miles Sat 20-Feb-16 14:29:57

Ethan is more if an American/ Aus/ NZ name. Also doesn't sound particularly solid no idea why I think that.

Love Edward

PirateSmile Sat 20-Feb-16 14:32:36

I prefer Edward. I know a few Ethans and whilst it's biblical, it is vey American and faddy. In all honestly I just don't like how Ethan sounds. It's quite an ugly sound to make iyswim.

Baz13 Sat 20-Feb-16 17:21:44

I prefer Edward as it's my grandads mn. My other children have nn names so the nn options of Edward fit quite nicely. I especially love Ted / Teddy

Edward, NN Teddy of course!

MamaLazarou Sat 20-Feb-16 21:11:16

Ted is really cute! You can't really shorten Ethan. Eeth?

Bluesand1 Sun 21-Feb-16 13:22:59

I know a few lovely boys called Ethan

CakeRattleandRoll Sun 21-Feb-16 15:20:36

I have an Edward - it's a great name! He gets called Teddy, Ted, Teddington and The Bear. An added bonus (for a train-mad 3 year old) is the Thomas the Tank Engine association.

there are 3 ethans in my eldest's class and they are all pronounced as "ee-fun" ehich would pee me off if it was my kid....
