I'm loving Brodie - I came across a lovely one and now I can't stay away from it!

Boy or girl
I like it for a Boy

DontKillMyVibe Fri 05-Feb-16 20:06:30

Popular in America. Not for me at all.

Peppapigallowsmetoshower Fri 05-Feb-16 20:07:27

I'd say boy. I wouldn't personally use it but I think it's a really lovely name.

IHeartKingThistle Fri 05-Feb-16 20:07:35

I met a gorgeous little boy called Brodie recently too and since then I've really liked the name.

Whatthefreakinwhatnow Fri 05-Feb-16 20:08:52

makes me think of the Jaws films!

HeteronormativeHaybales Fri 05-Feb-16 20:09:48

No.

GraceS123 Fri 05-Feb-16 20:10:50

For a boy... It's Scottish (Brody is the American version)

Lucked Fri 05-Feb-16 20:11:06

I know a very grown up one who is now retired. I think t is an excellent name.

Squashybanana Fri 05-Feb-16 20:11:50

It means 'second son'. It grows on me....

Sophronia Fri 05-Feb-16 20:12:02

I think it's ok

daisydalrymple Fri 05-Feb-16 20:13:34

It's making me think of The Professionals- am I showing my age?? grin bodie and Doyle I think? I like it anyway, it also makes me think of homeland actor for some reason? I only watched one series but is that his name?

LadyLuck81 Fri 05-Feb-16 20:13:38

I've a cousin Brodie - lovely

WileHallion Fri 05-Feb-16 20:15:17

It goes against all my usual naming preferences but I really love it.

weasle Fri 05-Feb-16 20:15:21

I think it's dreadful, sorry.

Frazzled2207 Fri 05-Feb-16 20:17:02

I love it. But dh vetoed on the basis that I blatantly fancied the Homeland character, though Brody was his surname.
Prefer Brody spelling.

GraceS123 Fri 05-Feb-16 20:18:07

I usually only like 'popular' names and I think this is the only 'not so popular' one I like!

MrsJayy Fri 05-Feb-16 20:18:12

Oh i like it if any of Dds had been boys I had Brodie or Blair as names

DangerMouth Fri 05-Feb-16 20:20:49

I really like it, go for it!

weebarra Fri 05-Feb-16 20:20:52

I like it. Not uncommon here in Scotland. I think of it in the same group as Struan, Harris, Murdo!

Saveferris1234 Fri 05-Feb-16 20:23:41

I have a Brodie and he's lovely grin. Therefore, it must be a lovely name!

WaverleyOwl Fri 05-Feb-16 20:26:32

It's a dogs name to me, as I had a friend with a retriever called Brodie when I was little. And I grew up in Scotland. But if you love it, go for it! I like it!

MadameDePompom Fri 05-Feb-16 21:26:46

I like it.

UntilTheCowsComeHome Fri 05-Feb-16 23:32:52

I only know a girl with this name but it is nice for either.

ClaireD2212 Sat 06-Feb-16 00:23:18
