Ajax is a bathroom cleaner....

Wasn't Ajax a cleaning product at one point? It's also a computer language (kind of). I like Albie.

Ajax is a cleaning product

Ajax as in the programming language or as in the football club? Either way, not for a child.
Jax is awful (and slang for the toilet, in Ireland)
Maddox is celeb-copydom.
Albie is just about ok.

I don't usually comment on baby name threads, but wonder if you are aware of this??

"Ajax is a brand of cleaning products, introduced by Colgate-Palmolive in 1947 for a powdered household and industrial cleaner. It was one of the company's first major brands. The ingredients of its scouring cleanser product include sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate, sodium carbonate, and quartz."

taken from the internet... it's the first thing I thought of when I saw Ajax!

Not tayla?

Jax sounds like the slang for toilet here in Ireland so it cracks me up, sorry!

Is this for a boy?

What about Jay?

Domestos has a nice ring to it though

Or cillit-bang if you wanted to hyphenate

I like jax but I am a SOA watcher.
No no no to Ajax.
Maddox is a surname and trying too hard.

So Jax or Albie

These are not names I particularly like, but from them I'd go for Albie with Maddox as runner up.

Ajax is a proper mythological name, but it's been completely overshadowed by the brand (like Mercedes and Flora)

Jax has associations for both Star Wars and Doctor Who nerds (of which there are lots).

Some other suggestions: Jay, Josh, Max, Axel?

Sorry, I think they are all awful. Are you very keen on the letter 'x' or something?

sugarplumfairy28 · 04/02/2016 13:59

I have no idea what cleaning product this is, but Ajax for me is a Greek mythological hero. Strong courageous and very tall apparently, although he did commit suicide in the myth.

I think Albie is dull, sorry.

RedOnHerHedd · 04/02/2016 14:11

Yeah I don't like them either, but Ajax is definitely what my nan used to clean with.
Sorry OP.

MNetter15 · 04/02/2016 14:15

I think they're very similar to Angelia Jolie and Brad Pitt's children.

Report
IssyStark · 04/02/2016 14:24

Don't like any of them.

Jax is okay-ish but what's wrong with Jack, or even John and then you can have any if the many, many nicknames including Jack and Jax?

Albie is also not as bad as Ajax or Maddox, but again if you like it why not have it as a nickname for Albert or Albus?

CultureSucksDownWords · 04/02/2016 14:26

Ajax is a cleaning product, a lot of people over 40 will have this association strongly. It's also a very famous football club from the Netherlands (pronounced aye-yaks). Despite being a mythical hero, please don't use this name.

Jax is ok, Albie is better, short for Albert or something else?

Ajax is a cleaning product and a football club.

Jax is just awful and Irish slang for 'toilet'.

Albie is a bit silly and babyish.

Maddox isn't too bad.

ClashCityRocker · 04/02/2016 14:55

Jax makes me think of jaxi (jacksie?) which means your bum hole.

I quite like Maddox. Ajax is that bleach stuff.

Maddox is fine, it has Welsh roots and has been around a long time (Ford Maddox Ford for instance). Bit hard to come up with good short forms though.

I always think Albie is cute on a toddler but I can't see it on a grumpy teenager. Albert gives more options?

Report
SquirrelledAway · 04/02/2016 15:09

Or Ford Madox Ford even.

Of the four I only like Maddox, although Albie would be okay for a nickname for Albert.

Were FMF and Ford Madox Brown related?

Come on... This is a joke thread, right? Right?? Toilets and toilet cleaners Confused. Sure you couldn't work a euphemism for shit in there too?
I apologise if it's not a joke thread, but they're really ridiculous names.
