Erm...
I'm sure you're not just 'average'. There's no shame in being a 'Precious' snowflake, in my opinion.

If you're in the US, fine.

If you're in the UK be prepared for some Confused faces.

Although traditionally a mans bame, the two Aubrey's I know are girls.

I prefer the Aubrey spelling too. It's a ok name, not my fave but I don't hate it.

That was my first thought too, are you in the UK?

Is that a name or did you just make it up?

I've heard of Aubrey for a man

MissFlight · 30/01/2016 14:52

Aubree is a mans name. I don't like it.

I think it's nice, and I like Rose as a middle name

Aubrey Plaza plays April on Parks & Recreation. She is very much a woman. Yes, it's traditionally a male name, but I like it. Have heard of one teen female Audrey as well.

AvaCrowder · 30/01/2016 14:58

I prefer Audrey.

IssiePink · 30/01/2016 14:59

I prefer Aubrey... That's the only way I have seen it! Aubree Rose

I have an Uncle Aubrey. I'm having difficulty picturing it on a girl.

PooDogMillionaire · 30/01/2016 15:07

People will think she can't say 'Audrey' properly. Audrey isn't a great name even when pronounced properly....

Report
TheCatsMeow · 30/01/2016 15:08

There are lots of female Aubreys.

Report
LaurieFairyCake · 30/01/2016 15:13

But why the double 'ee ' then if there's loads of female Aubreys?

Is it just a female name in America?

Report
JingsAndCrivens · 30/01/2016 15:15

Google tells me it's one of those boys names like Rory, that Americans have now decided should be a girls name.

Oh dear.

Aubrey is a very Roaring Twenties sort of man's name. Aubree, for a girl, spelt like that, sounds a bit lapdancer to me.

If you must use Aubree, for god's sake don't give her Oceéane as a middle name unless you are so rich you don' need to worry about people taking the piss

Jings Rory is now a girl's name in America??? Confused

Report
RudeElf · 30/01/2016 15:19

I like it, even with the 'ee' i like it. I've stopped caring what sex person 'usually' wears that name. Names and cultures evolve. Its a nice name for either sex.

JingsAndCrivens · 30/01/2016 15:20

Apparently so Manatee!

Audrey isn't a great name even when pronounced properly....
really
it has moved up the baby names popularity in the UK and has always been popular in the US - as has Audra.
what is difficult to pronounce about Audrey (it is a very old name of Germanic origin - not a made up name)
feel strongly about it as it is a name I particularly like and don't understand why Aubree would be liked and Audrey dismissed out of hand Hmm

Rory is now a girl's name in America??

Gilmore Girls. (And yes, if its on a girl then it is a girl's name Wink)

Alisvolatpropiis · 30/01/2016 15:21

Spell it Aubrey, if you really must use it for a girl.

What is wrong with Audrey, which is actually a female name?

Rose is nicest from your list, a quite underused as a first name.

JingsAndCrivens · 30/01/2016 15:21

Names and cultures evolve that's true. But I bet it only evolves one way, boys names becoming girls names. Won't hold my breath waiting for someone to say 'hmmm, Susan, that would work well for a boy'.
