Alfred (Alf)
Theodore (Theo/Teddy)

Allalonenow Mon 25-Jan-16 19:26:20

Theodore or Alfred.

lazybones77 Mon 25-Jan-16 19:28:56

Freddie or Jack. I'm not keen on Alfred or Theodore at all. I much prefer Edward shortened to Teddy.

ThroughThickAndThin01 Mon 25-Jan-16 19:30:16

Joshua or Jack

I don't like Freddie but really like Frederick/Fred.
Theodore/Teddy is nice.

daisydalrymple Mon 25-Jan-16 19:31:41

Freddie or jack

God this is hard! How on earth do you commit to a name?! None particularly stands out above any other shock

Thetruthfairy Mon 25-Jan-16 20:19:28

Alfred is pretty wonderful.
Theodore is lovely but very popular at the minute.
I love jack too xx

DeffoJeffo Mon 25-Jan-16 20:26:06

Alfred! Then you can try out Alf and Freddie once he's here and decide then smile

Allalonenow Mon 25-Jan-16 21:08:43

Jack and more so, Joshua are massively popular ATM, so once he goes to school he could well be Jack3 or Joshua5, so I wouldn't use them.

Freddie is cute on a little boy, but not so cute on a grown up, though I do like Frederick.

Theodore is having a bit of a peak just now, so Alfred is a good choice.

Alfred (Alf) - getting a bit overdone now
Freddie - nice if nickname for Frederick
Theodore (Theo/Teddy) - love Theodore/Theo, but find Teddy too twee
Joshua - like
Jack - overdone, was the no.1 boys name for years

ChristineDePisan Tue 26-Jan-16 00:57:58

Gazillions of Joshuas and Jacks around (they are nice names, after all)

I know lots of Freddies, though no Alfs

I lke Theo, not keen on Teddy

ChristineDePisan Tue 26-Jan-16 00:58:27

How about something like Jonathan NN Jonty?

Best wishes flowers

Alfred - not keen, but I do like Alfie!
Freddie - I like this - I like the Freddy spelling too...
Theodore - this is okay, but I love Teddy (prefer it as a NN for Edward)
Joshua - it's okay, but very popular... I think his teachers will expect to be teaching a Joshua (that isn't bad, but he'll probably be called by his last name) - Josh is a nice shortening...
Jack - same as Joshua ^ but I do quite like it!

Ilovegummibaers Tue 26-Jan-16 13:32:33

They're all very popular especially Jack and Theo. I really like the suggestion of Jonathan!

cecilelliott Tue 26-Jan-16 19:36:18

Theo and Teddy so overdone at the moment (apologies as they're nice names but have lost their freshness)

Freddie and Jack are my favourite of your list. Both classic names, so, although Jack is quite popular, it still sounds nice rather than dated like the above!

Good luck choosing!

HeyManIJustWantSomeMuesli Tue 26-Jan-16 20:28:35

Alfred or Joshua (had no idea this was getting popular again)

ScarlettDarling Tue 26-Jan-16 20:29:58

Jack is lovely. A gorgeous name for boy or man which will never go out of fashion. Love it!

Paddletonio Tue 26-Jan-16 21:34:23

Joshua or Jack

How popular are Josh and Jack?

For those of you who have DCs, are you noticing multiple of these names in your kids classes?

HeyNonnyMaybe Wed 27-Jan-16 21:42:37

Joshua and Jack are naughty boy names round here.

I like Alfred, but there are a bazillion Alfies, of course.

Theo is lovely and I only know one. What about Leo?
