Hi all,

I just had some great advice and lovely comments re boys names over the last week but now onto our girls name.

Eilidh is looking like a strong contender at the moment but I'm unsure what middle name would go with it.

Eilidh is pronounced Hayley but without the H so Ayley really.

Give me some possible options please.

Thanks

My DD is Eilidh and her middle name is Anne after my grandmother. I love how it sounds

Oh Eilidh Ann could be good. I'd get bonus points for that as its my mil and sisters middle name too!

Are you in Scotland? Do you have lots of queries about how to pronounce/spell Eilidh? We aren't Scottish but live up here and love the name- I guess I'm just a bit worried our south of the border relatives will be a bit like 'what's her name? How do you say/spell that?'

my friend is Scottish, her husband English. they live in England, they named their daughter Ailie so that they wouldn't have the problem with the pronunciation.

What a beautiful name! I've never heard it before.
I like Ann as a middle name too.

Lovely name. I was going to suggest Eilidh Hazel, Eilidh Willow or Eilidh Rowan. I don't know why but I like nature names with it.

We have an Eilidh Margaret and live outside of the U.K. And while it is unusual once people get over it they usually comment on how nice it is and learn to spell it quickly.

In Scotland too - I'm English but Eilidh is quite common here so no issues with spelling or pronounciation.
Lovely name

Depending on your pronunciation/accent, Eilidh Ann could end up sounding a little like 'hey, Leanne' with a dropped h. I love Eilidh as a first name choice, though, and if this isn't an issue with your accent then ignore me!

I'm late to reply, sorry - yes I am in Scotland, close to Edinburgh and most Scottish people can pronounce it OK, English relatives still can't get the spelling right so for now she's 'Ellie' but I do get a fair few compliments on her name. She has a very Scottish surname with difficult spelling so I haven't made it easy for her in the future if she goes off on her travels lol.
