Thank you! I was thinking Amelie Rose is an obvious choice but my sister has 2 girls called Emily and Rose and I think it would be too similar!

If your sister has a girl called Emily don't call her Amilie.

Why not? We don't live near each other (she's in Cumbria I'm in Berkshire), her dd Emily is 17 now so it's not likely they will play together! I also don't think she would mind, it's not the same name! It's not something that would bother her.

Love it. It does sound similar to Emily however but if your sister doesn't/won't mind, then not an issue. It was top of my list for DD but I didn't go with it in the end partly because DH has a niece called Emilia (who we actually see once every 4 years or something so probably it would have been fine to use!).

I always think it's a wishy washy cross between Emily and Amelia.

I think Amelie is quite nice! I understand what PP said about it being too similar to Emily but I suppose, if you're 100% sure your sister won't mind, then it's your choice! Fleur is lovely x

The grandparents would have an Emily and an Amelie and they do sound very similar. I really like Fleur and would use that as first name.

Funny enough my dad lives down south with me and my mum loves up north with my sister so not sure the grandparent thing would matter either! Thanks for the comments, I've gone off Fleur!

I think it's lovely, but there are so many Amelies, Emilys, Emilias, Amelis, Ellas etc that it can seem a bit blah.

I have to agree with PotteringAlong. I think it's a bit strange to have grandchildren with the names Amelie and Emily. Also, will they ever see each other? If they'll be spending time together now and again, it could be rather odd. Also, have you spoken to your sister? Has she said she wouldn't mind?

It is a very beautiful but popular name. I volunteer at a primary school and there are fifteen girls with that name but only one Liselle. But if you love it and don't mind the popularity then that's the main thing.

Thank you Tangerine! I really don't understand why Emily and Amelie would be an issue! Emily is almost 18 and barely around the younger children! Also they live so far away!

It doesn't really matter where they live. They are very similar names and some people even pronounce the same.

Obviously it's the name you've chosen so as long as you are happy with it then that's all that really matters.
