I like this but would people think it's Melody? Are there any other spelling for this name? Elidie perhaps??

I think it's really lovely. I wasn't aware of alternative spellings but just searched and came up with Elody, Helodie and Elodee. I prefer the -ie and -y spellings.

Love it. I wanted it for DD but DP wasn't totally sold on it. I hope to persuade him if ever we have another girl.

How do you pronounce it? "ehl-uh-dee" or "e-LO-dee"?

Never heard of it. It sounds like a yodel to me.

I had a friend at school called Elodie. It's a beautiful name. Pronounced like Melody, Cats.

DD is called Elodie, sometimes gets mistaken for Melody but it's a beautiful name and lots of people comment on it. Rarely get the yodel too!

Love it, have two friends with a dd called Elodie, one usually shortened to Ellie. I wouldn't change the spelling.

I know an Elodie and she's a lovely little girl, so I like it. I don't know any others. It really suits her.

Ive only known one elodie who went to same nursery as my dd. I think it's a very pretty name. You will never get 100% of people liking any name. If you love it, go for it Smile

It was top of my list when I was expecting DS. DP wasn't keen but I'll work on him again if the next DC is a girl.

Anyway, I love it (obviously). Its of French origin.

I have only known one Elodie who I went to school with. Her mum was our French teacher.
