DH and I, have gone through thousands of names; there's loads of names we like, but only 2 we both agree on! sad

DD is Olivia Autumn and our LN is Stephens...

So, Ryan or Teddy?

Please don't suggest longer forms, for Teddy, it's just going to be Teddy.

Ryan definitely.

Teddy...

Binkybix Thu 07-Jan-16 07:06:13

A very helpful start there grin

Teddy

Teddy is much nicer than Ryan. I find Ryan quite a harsh name.

ophiotaurus Thu 07-Jan-16 07:10:47

Teddy. Although if you like both then see what he looks like when he arrives?

AutumnLeavesEd Thu 07-Jan-16 07:11:38

Oh, wow - I'm a little surprised! Very pleased about that though, thanks smile

MitzyLeFrouf Thu 07-Jan-16 10:34:29

Ryan. I don't particularly like it but it's better than Teddy.

What the hell is going on with Ted and Teddy that every other boy being born at the moment is being given this name??

ThroughThickAndThin01 Thu 07-Jan-16 10:36:16

Teddy.

I have an intense dislike for Ryan.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams Thu 07-Jan-16 10:48:11

Teddy

Hay135 Thu 07-Jan-16 10:56:06

I prefer Ryan smile

peregreen Thu 07-Jan-16 10:58:21

Definitely Teddy

Anaffaquine123 Thu 07-Jan-16 11:02:26

Prefer Ryan. Think Teddy can be an awkward name for a shy teenager to pull off!

bangbangprettypretty Thu 07-Jan-16 11:28:36

Teddy.

(Do you like 90s Manchester United players OP?!) wink

smartyclogs Thu 07-Jan-16 12:13:14

I agree with mitzy, too many Teddy's.
Seems like every thread for boys names has Ted/Teddy, Theodore in it.

So for that reason, I vote for Ryan. Something a bit different.

Ryan

Ryan

Teddy is faddy and a toy's name.

PurpleDaisies Thu 07-Jan-16 13:22:33

Ryan-teddy isn't a name for a grown up.

Sofiria Thu 07-Jan-16 13:37:08

Ryan. Don't like Teddy on it's own without a longer form.

KoalaDownUnder Thu 07-Jan-16 14:03:50

Ryan is awful.

Teddy is...a bit childish when he gets to adulthood, surely?

namechangedtoday15 Thu 07-Jan-16 14:08:48

Really sorry but Teddy Stephens makes me think of a toy on Playaway (showing my age - was that Big Ted and Little Ted?!) or the name of a programme on CBBC. It is incredibly popular at the moment too and not particularly great for anyone over 5.

Ryan - I don't really like that either if I'm honest - despite it being a relative's name blush but its OK. Its quite unusual these days and there probably won't be 10 other Ryans in his class as schools like there would be with Teddy.

CakeRattleandRoll Thu 07-Jan-16 14:46:27

I actually have a Teddy. He is 3, so born before the apparent surge in popularity, and in Australia, where it is much less popular anyway. But he is Edward on bc. I wouldn't have chosen Teddy for the bc, so I vote for Ryan, which I quite like.

Hastagwhatever Thu 07-Jan-16 14:47:13

Teddy

Stollenlover Thu 07-Jan-16 15:19:20

Teddy is a bear, isn't it? It sounds so cutesy and childish, sorry.

I'm not keen on Ryan either but if I had to choose one, then it would have to be this one.
