Please help! Don't know the sex. Have a boys name sorted, just need ideas for a girls name. We live in Spain so it has to be compatible with English and Spanish pronunciations.

I'm 39+5.
Argh.
Open-minded, nothing too traditional. Nothing religious (the majority of Spanish names Hmm). Possibly a unisex name?

Come on, throw 'em at me!

What name have you chosen for a boy?

Hmm, I love Sofia and Isabella which would work but are probably not what you're after. Lola?

Holly, Carol, Mary, Beth (Bethlehem)

Just kidding, but you could go for a Christmassy name.

Wow, thanks everyone for all the suggestions!

I love Piper, Harper and Scout. Also LOVE Lola, but has been vetoed (grrrr!). I adore Ava, but here would be pronounced Aba, which is a) a type of bean and b) that fanous Swedish export.
At the moment leaning towards Juno, which in this area of Spain would be pronounced as in English because they say "j" the same as we do (Catalunya).
Belen is Bethlehem in Spanish, I just found out today. That would be Christmassy, but know a couple of Belens and the name doesn't inspire me.
Mia, I really like, but in Spanish means "mine", which is a bit odd.

At the moment have my heart set on Boí for a boy. Yes, it's pronounced "boy" and yes, it is actually a real name here. The Catalan minister for health is called Boí and it's the name of a really beautiful place in the Pyrenees.
Our other pair have mad names. Might name change tomorrow and share them (on phone, in bed, can't sleep, thanks bump).

Also like Zola, Suki, Cassia...

Any more ideas? Or comments? Please, Smile

Carla/Carlotta?

DoctoraNova · 21/12/2015 01:04

I think Ramona is cool, and actually had my heart set on Ramon for our first but she's a girl, and back then hadn't heard of Ramona or maybe she would be a Ramona now! But have asked a few friends and they have all very strongly said "no way" to Ramona. In Ireland or England I think it would be super cool though.
