I love them both. DH will hate them both, but he didn't like DD1's name initially, so will work on him 😉

Neither nor. Especially if your dh isn't on board.
I know someone with a Dalia (long first 'a') - how about that instead? Or Delia?

I love Dinah. Did dh technically get to pick/approve your first babies name? We are having a boy and I've let dh pick a name as he hated all my lovely suggestions! Lol (so I can pick the second child's name if we have another, haha)

Delilah. Dinah is almost identical to Diner.

Sophronia Sat 19-Dec-15 20:54:12

Dinah. Love it.

Maplessglobe Sat 19-Dec-15 20:55:25

I like Dina (prefer without the H for some reason).

Delina is also very pretty, as an alternative

Katarzyna79 Sat 19-Dec-15 21:10:02

I don't like dina only because I knew a few growing up.

As someone mentioned Daalia is a nice alternative, I was thinking of this one for my new addition husband is against it.

out of the two you mentioned Delilah, but I'm not keen on any.

Delilah, with Della as nickname.

Dinah reminds me of Diner.

maiscout Sat 19-Dec-15 21:28:09

Delilah. It's my first choice when I have a girl

CherryPits Sat 19-Dec-15 23:56:21

They both very strongly remind me of the 1970s (when I was little) and songs by Tom Jones (Delilah obviously) and Dinah reminds me of Diana Dors for some reason. I think peroxide hair and buxom TV ladies. But that's just me.

... Dinah is the cat in Alice in wonderland! Its really nice anyway smile

justjodie92 Sun 20-Dec-15 00:02:32

Definitely Delilah I would say

quitecrunchy Sun 20-Dec-15 00:07:38

I love Dinah. Having a scottish accent I never thought about it being close to diner.

Dinah -- you never hear this name, and it is beautiful (imo).

Maplessglobe Sun 20-Dec-15 14:50:27

Hang on are people saying Dinah 'dye-ner'? I would say it 'Dee-na'. Is that wrong? I would have imagined that to be the Hebrew pronounciation.

I know a Dina who says it 'Dee-na'. She is just fab; elegant, very bright, really kind, so has probably biased me towards this sweet name.

Sophronia Sun 20-Dec-15 15:46:59

I say Dina 'dee-na' and Dinah 'dye-na'

Pinklily1 Sun 20-Dec-15 16:14:02

I'd say Dina = 'dee-na' and Dinah + "dye-ner"

RiverTam Sun 20-Dec-15 16:15:54

Dinah pronounced Dye-nah.

ashesandfire Sun 20-Dec-15 18:09:55

I would pn Dinah as Dee-nah and think it's much nicer than Delilah, I think the pronunciation might cause problems though

balletgirlmum Sun 20-Dec-15 18:14:36

Neither (though there are a few Delilahs here in Stoke). Dinah reminds me too much of Starlight Express.

AlisonWunderland Sun 20-Dec-15 18:16:47

Dinah is Dye-na.

I should know...

Yika Sun 20-Dec-15 20:32:55

I love Dinah (which I would pronounce Diner, but have never made the connection!)

mathanxiety Mon 21-Dec-15 01:06:18

Dina = Dee-na
Dinah = Dye-na
