Due next week and struggling with girls' names!

Help! OH and I really can't decide on a girl's name. We don't know what we're having and this is DC3. We have two DD's, Katherine and Sophia.

Boys names are sorted (as we are using names we had lined up before) but we can't decide on a girls name. As I am a bit of a stresser, I'm not really one to wait until the baby's born!

Shortlist is:

Helena
Emilia
Alexandra
Harriet
Isabella

Please let me know your views on these, good and bad! We're pretty certain it will be one of these, DH has vetoed any other ideas!

Thank you

I love Alexandra most from your shortlist and it has lots of scope for nn's too: Alex, Lexie, Xan etc..

Ooh very exciting times ahead for you. Congratulations. Xmas Grin.
Helena. Is classy and very elegant.
Emilia. Is very pretty
I have the same views on Alexandra as I do on Helena but be mindful she might want to go by Alex. Al
Sandie Zandra or Lexi.
I can't stand Harriet . I'm sick of hearing the name. It's like there's a secret law where every baby born in England has to be named Harriet, enough already. But that's just my opinion. If you it and popularity doesn't bother you then go for it. Just that popularity grates on my last nerve.
Isabella is gorgeous. h
Out of them all I'd choose Helena. As its the most unusual. It also puts in mind of Helena Bohnam Carter, and shes beautiful.

All beautiful names.....

Alexandra is my favourite.

Like them all apart from Harriet. It sounds a bit like a Hyacinth Bouquet type character.

I love Alexandra and I like Helena.
Emilia and Isabella are OK, a bit 'meh' IMO as they are so popular. I prefer Isobel
I don't like Harriet

I was going to suggest Suzannah until I saw your list. From your list I like Helena best.

Helena and Alexandra are beautiful classic names

Helena or Alexandra for me - both strong, elegant, timeless and classic.

Isabella and Emilia are fine, but both seem a bit bland and insipid compared to the others. Not a huge fan of Harriet.

Emilia is my fave from that list. I like Helena when it's pronounced Helen-ah not h-Elaine-a. Harriet is lovely.
Hate Alexandra and Isabella is just far too popular for my liking (as Isabella and Isabel)

I think Emilia would be constantly correcting people who assume/mishear it as Amelia or Emily.
Isabella is sooo popular everywhere.
My favourite is Harriet and I like it with your other DDs names, perhaps because it has a different end sound.

I'd go for either Helena or Alexandra. Alexandra sounds quite regal with Katherine and Sophia.

I'm an Alexandra.

Like my name. Strong, good for a little girl but nice for a woman too.

I get called Alex, Lex, Ally and sexy Lexy.

Beautiful names, don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

You have great taste.

Thank you for all your comments! Think we are down to Alexandra, Helena or Harriet. It's so difficult to choose!

I think Sophia and Katherine are both Greek in origin aren't they? So Alexandra would fit.

(Although I think Helena might be Greek too 🇬🇷)

They're all lovely names anyway. Good luck with the birth!

Love Alexandra,Helena, Isabella and Emilia(Though could be confused with Amelia and a pain to explain) your choice of course but really dislike Harriet. the other names are feminine and chic but Harriet conjures up a stout , red faced farmer's wife in a Fairisle jumper and tweed skirt to me! Just saying.

I love Harriet! And Helena! They're my top pics from your list! Both feminine and beautiful in my opinion, and go very nicely with your other DDs names!

Alexandra or Helena for me too! Both lovely. I think Helena possibly goes better with your other daughter's names. I love Katherine!
