For a boy?
Do you like? Or know many?

Sophronia Sat 12-Dec-15 23:09:24

It's ok, I know one female one.

IHeartKingThistle Sat 12-Dec-15 23:14:49

I know a couple and one Ashdon. It's quite nice.

Secondtimeround75 Sat 12-Dec-15 23:17:56

I'm not a fan
It's a bit try hard -- to be cool--
I don't know any, that may be a plus or minus.

ExitPursuedByABear Sat 12-Dec-15 23:21:49

2 miles down the road.

NerrSnerr Sat 12-Dec-15 23:22:43

I like it. Like Ashton Eaton the decathlete.

Essexgirlupnorth Sat 12-Dec-15 23:35:08

Think of it as a place name too

KoalaDownUnder Sat 12-Dec-15 23:41:44

The only one I know is a girl. I've never liked it.

Prefer it for a boy, but eh...its s bit 70s sounding. Or something.

Same as Exit. Wonder if it's the same one? There are several Ashtons dotted around the country I think. It wouldn't work in this area at all I'm afraid.

Had one in my class, but I was born there, so struggled to think of it as a name.

pieceofpurplesky Sat 12-Dec-15 23:47:24

I live near an Ashton too. It's a place name, and would be Ash as a nn

RJnomore1 Sat 12-Dec-15 23:50:49

My dds name is very very similar. Dhs friend has a boy Ashton born same time, they were in cots next to each other in scbu.

I'm sorry but I don't like it, it's too "Ashton kutcher" for me. Try hard.

Ill try to think if something similar I do like for a boy!

squoosh Sun 13-Dec-15 01:08:16

There's Ashton Kutcher and Ashton Lane.

I prefer Ashton Lane.

timelytess Sun 13-Dec-15 01:17:53

Ashton. Denton. Droylsden. Mossley. I draw the line at Dukinfield, though. Imagine, people might think you conceived your child in Ashton-under-Lyne.

whatdoIget Sun 13-Dec-15 08:03:47

I think Stalybridge has a certain ring to it actually. For a girl, or course.

wonderpants Sun 13-Dec-15 08:18:10

Hattersley- Hyde (for a girl)? But not Broadbottom!

Sorry OP, joining in with knowledge of Tameside (east Manchester).

I actually like Ashton, and despite knowing it as a place name, it still works as a name for me.

Pinklily1 Sun 13-Dec-15 14:34:10

I don't know and not a fan at all. Reminds me of Ashton Kutcher. Very American IMO

Micklehurst. Mickey for short.
