I love it - if DC3 had been a boy he'd have been Darwin To be fair it started as a jokey bump name, but by the time I had her it had really grown on me!

I might be nuts but I associate it with being stupid, as well as with genetics obviously. The Darwin awards. People who took themselves out of the gene pool by dying as a result of their own stupidity.

I have a relative by this name and always find his name gets a bit of a funny reaction if his name comes up in conversation with people who don't know him! I think people that know him would not think the name was odd in any way because you just get used to a name on a person! Not my cup of tea, personally, but it's what you like that counts

I'm glad the response is mainly positive I'm going in for a c section on Friday and we just decided we hate the boys name we choose. I suggested Darwin again to dh and he said yeah its OK, let's ask mumsnet. Think we might go into theatre with a couple of names and if its a boy see which one fits.
