I know quite a few around 10 years old. There might be a question is it said Mee-a or My-a. I would suppose Mee-a as in Mia Farrow.

Personally I like it; I know a very lovely girl with the name.

There is also a Welsh name Nia.

I used to work with someone in Australia who was upset Lleyton Hewitt and his wife called their daughter Mia because it got super popular.

Would you pronounce it Mee-a or My-a? If it's Mya I'd spell it that way so people don't say Mee-a.

We have 2 nieces called Mia (Mee-a), my 7 yo niece, & dh's 18 yo niece. The younger one gets called My-a quite a bit, much to my ds's annoyance

Oh man, lots of these in the school I work in. Ditto Tia/Leah. Lots of -ia names in general and they all blend together tbh. I wouldn't go for it.

Shitwithsugaron I have a Mia Elizabeth too but mines 8 years old. Obviously biased but I love the name and it's one which hasn't been overused in the last few years

Hmmm...Mine is the only Mia in her year group, 2007 must not have been a popular year for Mia's where I live.

Nina/Serena/Selena have similar sounds but less common.

I like it, though prefer Nia (Knee-a) myself. I always presume Mia is Mee-a not Mai-a - always thought the latter was spelt Maya. There's also Thea or Rhea, which are obviously similar but less popular.
