Hugo Theodore

Help us name our DS!

Our favourite names are:

Hugo
Oscar (too popular?)
Theodore
Gabriel
Reuben
Jasper (too unusual?)

One for first name and one for the Middle name. So far I think I like Hugo Theodore to most. Surname two syllables ending in N. Brother for Felicity.

I work in a school and we have one of each of these names and I think Hugo Theodore sounds perfect

Ooooh! Hugo Theodore just screams out to be called Hugs Teddy for short. (Perhaps not when he's older, but really sweet on a little one.) Smile

Hugo is nice a strong but not sure that its in the same name pond as Felicity. IYSWIM.
Oscar is lovely and fits great with Felicity, but it is very overused.
Don't like Theodore. It's very blunt and harsh but the nns potential nns Teddy and Theo are great.
Gabriel is lovely, and siblings Felicity and Gabriel has a great ring to it.. It conjures up to me a very polite well mannered sweet nature little inquisitive yet also mischievous and very playful little boy. But I have noticed quite a few threads asking for advice and opinions on the name and it is in the top 100, so. It's certainly rising in popularity.
Rueben. FFS not another one. I irrationality despise this name. possibly because at school I was with ax girl who made my life school life a nightmare, who had Rueben as a surname
Jasper . I have one word Carrot. It's dreadful. I do love Casper though.

You see me personally. I wouldn't put a mn with Hugo as to me it sounds like someone saying
You go................
Nor would I use it as mn as it sounds like you're saying ............... You go.
Like I said. Its a great name but its also what I would call a stand alone name.

Theodore Reuben

Hugo always sounds rather posh to my ears and not in a good way. I like Theodore, Reuben or Gabriel best from your list. There are loads of Oscars around and quite a few Theos and Reubens.

Totally biased as my ds2 is Hugo. Beautiful name, I love it. We've picked Oscar for bump if it turns out to be a boy. Yes it is quite popular at the moment but it's the only one we agree on and we really like it as well so I'm not worried.

Hugo was on our list but it's become very common now... Someone in MiC maybe?

What do you mean by not in the same pond as Felicity? As if they don't go well together?

I like Hugo, Theodore and Gabriel best from your list.
Also love Felicity and think any of the names you've shortlisted will sound nice with it.
I'm not mad about Oscar. To me it's a stallion (though a good one!) Grinhttp://bloodstock.racingpost.com/stallionbook/stallion.sd?horse_id=462135&popup=1&tab=details

Yes. Felicity is nice and sweet, but Hugo is very strong sounding. IMO, anyway

I like Hugo. Jasper isn't uncommon here, I have met at least three in the past couple of years.

Reuben is gorgeous! Hugo sounds a bit cartoon characterish to me, don't now why. Like Theo. in fact all your name choices are similar to mine.x

Felicity and Hugo sound very stereotypically 'posh' together!
