Lovely and popular

I prefer it as a nickname for Catherine / Katharine / Kathleen etc

I like it. Are you thinking on its own or as a nickname for Katharine?

Report
HoneyLeaf · 19/11/2015 16:22

On its own :)

Yes it's nice

It's very dated to me, lots of Katie's/Katys at school in the 1980s. I know of a toddler one and it just seems weird to me!

I like it but prefer Katy!

My Katie is 15 months old and the name really suits her. It's not short for anything.

I like it but as a nickname for Katherine and then she can choose to be Kate or Katy as she wishes but still have the option of the full name if she becomes prime minister or whatever. I have a similar type of name and go by the long version at work as the short version seems a bit young now I'm old.

I have a close relative named Katie, so it's a thumbs up from me.

I prefer it as a nickname for Katherine. On its own it's a bit boring and dated.

Have a close young relative called Katie and its perfect. It's her full name not a NN.

I like it.

I like it, but I personally would go for the more grown up sounding (imo) Kate on the BC, to be known as Katie/Katy.

I like it, but think it sounds a bit babyish on an adult, so if it was me I would use Kate on the BC, and call her Katie while she was little (and then these things get a life of their own so she would probably stay Katie for ever....)

Pretty much the same as MilkTwoSugarsThanks in fact

Not a fan of it on its own, it's a bit overly cutesy. As a nickname it's nice though.

It's my name, it is SOOO dull. There are always millions of us, everyone spells it wrong - I.e. After their pal katey, kt, kaytee etc and its fine when you are a growing up and maybe even the office junior but isn't the name of a grown up! - sorry.

As a Katie myself, it's clearly the best name ever. Grin Wink

Also, hate to be pedantic but three people have said it's a nickname for Katherine. No, it's not. It's a shortening of Katherine.

I really don't, I find it terribly boring and bland, which is odd as I really like Katharine and Kate.

My dd's name! I love it! She is actually Katherine and I suspect she'll become Kate as she gets older but right now Katie works really well.

She's the only one in her year (of 90) at school. (As opposed to Amelie / Amelia / Lilia / Lily of which there are 9 in her class!)
