This isn't my bump's name - just thinking, atm smile

ktmummy1 Thu 19-Nov-15 16:17:59

I love it not biased at all

Kr1stina Thu 19-Nov-15 16:20:00

Lovely and popular

I prefer it as a nickname for Catherine / Katharine / Kathleen etc

TwoTwoOneBravo Thu 19-Nov-15 16:21:46

I like it. Are you thinking on its own or as a nickname for Katharine?

HoneyLeaf Thu 19-Nov-15 16:22:35

On its own smile

Sleeplessme Thu 19-Nov-15 16:59:59

Yes it's nice

RiverTam Thu 19-Nov-15 17:02:19

It's very dated to me, lots of Katie's/Katys at school in the 1980s. I know of a toddler one and it just seems weird to me!

wonderpants Thu 19-Nov-15 17:05:09

I like it but prefer Katy!

JC74 Thu 19-Nov-15 17:08:49

My Katie is 15 months old and the name really suits her. It's not short for anything.

WorldsBiggestGrotbag Thu 19-Nov-15 17:11:15

I like it.

HoneyLeaf Thu 19-Nov-15 17:15:41

JC74 yeah, I like it on its own smile

I like it but as a nickname for Katherine and then she can choose to be Kate or Katy as she wishes but still have the option of the full name if she becomes prime minister or whatever. I have a similar type of name and go by the long version at work as the short version seems a bit young now I'm old.

CaptainKit Thu 19-Nov-15 17:36:11

I have a close relative named Katie, so it's a thumbs up from me.

Sophronia Thu 19-Nov-15 18:53:02

I prefer it as a nickname for Katherine. On its own it's a bit boring and dated.

HackerFucker22 Thu 19-Nov-15 20:42:32

Have a close young relative called Katie and its perfect. It's her full name not a NN.

celtictoast Thu 19-Nov-15 20:53:16

I like it.

I like it, but I personally would go for the more grown up sounding (imo) Kate on the BC, to be known as Katie/Katy.

froggyjump Fri 20-Nov-15 20:04:38

I like it, but think it sounds a bit babyish on an adult, so if it was me I would use Kate on the BC, and call her Katie while she was little (and then these things get a life of their own so she would probably stay Katie for ever....)

froggyjump Fri 20-Nov-15 20:05:19

Pretty much the same as MilkTwoSugarsThanks in fact

Not a fan of it on its own, it's a bit overly cutesy. As a nickname it's nice though.

Kittykatmacbill Fri 20-Nov-15 21:06:17

It's my name, it is SOOO dull. There are always millions of us, everyone spells it wrong - I.e. After their pal katey, kt, kaytee etc and its fine when you are a growing up and maybe even the office junior but isn't the name of a grown up! - sorry.

LilacSpunkMonkey Fri 20-Nov-15 21:09:55

As a Katie myself, it's clearly the best name ever. grin wink

Also, hate to be pedantic but three people have said it's a nickname for Katherine. No, it's not. It's a shortening of Katherine.

IHaveBrilloHair Fri 20-Nov-15 21:11:19

I really don't, I find it terribly boring and bland, which is odd as I really like Katharine and Kate.

redcaryellowcar Fri 20-Nov-15 21:13:13

I like Katy best.

ZombiesAteMyBaby Fri 20-Nov-15 21:14:35
