I'm wanting to call DS2 this and just wondered what people thought about the name smile

I love Isaac.

Unusual and short.

Pandora97 Sun 15-Nov-15 23:48:13

I wouldn't say Isaac's unusual - it's very 2015 to me, in that I know lots of them born recently. I believe it's in the top 30 in the name charts if you care about such things. That said, it's one of my favourite names. Handsome, cute with a great meaning. Just be prepared that he will probably meet lots of others in his peer group.

Nice, but very biblical if that's something that bothers you.

Devora Sun 15-Nov-15 23:50:44

Love it. I don't know any small Isaacs.

Lovely name smile

MummaGiles Mon 16-Nov-15 19:09:56

Lovely. There was an Isaac born in our NCT group and he's such a lovely boy.

EsmesBees Mon 16-Nov-15 19:09:48

Lovely. I know lots of young Isaacs. The only thing I don't like is that there is no obvious nickname.

MaliaGrace Mon 16-Nov-15 19:47:46

Love it.

It's nice but I think it's becoming incredibly popular, much like Noah.

celtictoast Mon 16-Nov-15 21:19:52

It's a very nice name. Quite popular.

I have an Isaac - he's Issey (pronounced I-zee) as a nickname, though I have also heard Zac as a nickname. I liked the meaning and that it's not too common, only one other in his school & he's 7

SanityClause Mon 16-Nov-15 21:24:24

Possible cool nicknames are Zack and Ike.

AntsMarching Mon 16-Nov-15 21:29:57

I know an Isaac, he's 6. His mother, a devout Christian, named him Isaac because she'd waited 10 years to have him, just like Sarah had waited a long time to have her Isaac. I like the story behind his name.

And even without the story, I like the name. I think it's a strong name.

DramaAlpaca Mon 16-Nov-15 22:20:24

I don't like it at all, sorry.

Sophronia Mon 16-Nov-15 23:04:28

I'm not keen, I just hear 'I suck'

Tirfarthoin Mon 16-Nov-15 23:08:27

OneFlewOverTheDodosNest Mon 16-Nov-15 23:18:52

I love Isaac - traditional and yet not too common.

OneFlewOverTheDodosNest Mon 16-Nov-15 23:19:06

And by common I mean popular not common!

MyNewBearTotoro Mon 16-Nov-15 23:22:39

I like it. Was on the shortlist for DS.

namechangedtoday15 Mon 16-Nov-15 23:22:45

Quite a few at school (Inc my son's yr 6) as the name if my nephew. Think its lovely but v popular.

The conventional nickname is Ike which I'm less keen on.

IoraRua Mon 16-Nov-15 23:23:13

Love it.

MuttonCadet Mon 16-Nov-15 23:23:44

Love it, and NN zac.

Littlemissjt Mon 16-Nov-15 23:30:32

Love it! Only reason it wasn't on my list is because I have a friend with one, he's the only one I know though.
