Hi ladies

Our first child is due next April, a little girl. Very excited!

We are considering names and both like the name Livvy. We don't like Olivia so that isn't an option.

What do you think of Livvy? It seems to be seldom chosen :-)

Any thoughts very welcome

My name is Olivia and I hate being called Livvy. I think it is a nickname, not a name on its own.

I wouldn't. I was called Livvy until the age of about 9 or 10. Great for a child but I didn't like it as a pre-teen/teenager. I think it's best as a nickname.

Do you like Libby? That can be short for Elizabeth as well as some other names.

I'm not mad on Olivia, but do like Livia. An option, perhaps, so that young Livvy has a full name option when older?

I really don't think you can use Livvy without the association of Olivia somewhere. I mean if you call her Livvy and some one says "oh Olivia" you can just say No, but I think it will be an assumption.

Although I think you could get away with just Liv if that's any good?

I agree with you about Livia - I know one. I don't think she's been called by her correct first name when she is first introduced in 45 years.

God not Eve. I swear every other girl here is named eve. At one stage a third of the girls in dds class were named a variant of eve. That name is full!
