dd3 is due in 6 weeks and we cant seem to find a name we love.

Names we have on our list (in no significant order are)
and Evelyn (Ev-eh-lyn, not Eve-lyn)

I also like Everly, Emme, and Effie.. Dh has said no to all, reason being the first 2 are very similar to my name.

Penny, Ivy and Erin we both like but seem a little dare I say it Dull,
My two favourites are Adeline and Norah but I still have mixed thoughts on Norah sometimes, is it too dated?

Dh's favourite is Evelyn, his cousin (who ive never met) has a dd named Evelyn (Eve-lyn) nn Evie and he thinks it may be too similar. Im also concerned with having to correct people on pronunciation.

Can someone please give opinions on these names and suggest some others before I go insane over thinking it all?

dd2 has a slightly unusual name which everybody hated before she was born (think season - not summer) but now it really suits her and people comment on how gorgeous the name is, so others opinions aren't that important to me, I'm just hoping they might help us narrow it down!

Ooh lovely list! 3 are on my list!

Penny - least fave, bit bland
Ivy - it's cute
Adeline - on my list so obviously I like it smile prefer Adelaide though which is my mythical DD's name
Erin - lovely, think it's becoming popular?
Norah - love it, met a little one the other day. It's a bit 1920s glam which I loooove.
Evelyn - bit popular for my taste, however I love Eveline (EV-ah-leen)

Love Norah a lot, would you consider Agatha? Aggie nn? Or Agnes?

I have an Ivy and love the name but slowly noticing more of them.

Alexjoy Wed 11-Nov-15 12:46:10

Really like Ivy. I think you'll know when you see her, Ivy and Adeline are very different.

Don't like Norah, but only because I had an Aunt Norah who I didn't like!

3timesascrazy Wed 11-Nov-15 12:47:55

Not keen on Agatha,
We are finding this so difficult third time around, she may be registered as 'dd3' at this rate!

Evelyn has become massively popular recently. I'm not keen.

Nora (no 'h') is amazing. Adore it.

Also love Ivy. Adeline and Adelaide are too frilly for me.

Erin is awful.

CakeRattleandRoll Wed 11-Nov-15 13:55:01

Love Norah and like Ivy.

GothicRainbow Wed 11-Nov-15 13:57:19

We've just found we're having another boy so won't be using the girls names on my list.

We had Evelyn and Erin on our list plus Genevieve, Darcey and Zoey.

I think we would have likely gone with Darcey.

MairzyDoats Wed 11-Nov-15 13:58:52

I think Norah is gorgeous, and I know of a very small one, so I think it may be becoming more popular. It does have that old time glamour. What about Eden or Edith?

TiffanyAtBreakfast Wed 11-Nov-15 14:01:08

Love Ivy, love Erin. Erin is on our current baby name list.

Norah brings the expression 'oh bloody nora!' to mind.

Norah is lovely, makes me think of gorgeous Norah Jones.

ThroughThickAndThin01 Wed 11-Nov-15 17:18:07

Dora or Freya?

VocationalGoat Wed 11-Nov-15 17:18:05

Erin and Evelyn win for me.
Norah too.
Good luck as you prepare for baby number 3's arrival!

SantasLittleMonkeyButler Wed 11-Nov-15 17:20:00

I love Ivy!

Have you considered Iris? It's really rather cute smile.

My grandma was called Nora & I would have considered it for DD, had DH not vetoed it at first suggestion!

I don't like Penny, Adeline or Evelyn - sorry. What about Nina? It has a similar vibe to some on your list.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler Wed 11-Nov-15 17:21:40

Allthatnonsense My grandma was called Nora Jones. I always smile to myself when I hear the singer's name on the radio, TV etc. grin

I like Nora, Adeline and Ivy.

What about:

Penny- nice but a bit dated, may be making a recent comeback
Ivy - poison ivy and the old character from coronation street is all I think of!
Adeline- quite like but looks like it's missing an M at the beginning!
Erin - I like this. Erin Brokovich springs to mind-strong, classy name
Norah- bleeding Norah! Not for me!
and Evelyn - pretty, I think my fave

manicinsomniac Wed 11-Nov-15 22:44:29

Penny - not keen
Ivy - really like it

Thank you for everyone's suggestions/comments!
So far we have vetoed Evelyn and Erin so I suppose we are getting somewhere, DH suggested Eleanora nn Nora (I quite like the nn Lenny)
