Margot is on our short list along with Clara and Constance (connie) if they are to your taste?

TheNumberfaker Thu 05-Nov-15 09:09:17

They are all lovely. Margot is my favourite. Just double check initials with your surname.

OOh I love all your names! Cora has been a secret like of mine for years - also like Nina - any good?

Of the 4 names you listed, I'd say no to Katherine personally. That's my name and have had years of misspelling (although your dd might not get that if she's a Kitty?) - and much as I love Florence, I really hate Flo which it might end up getting shortened to?

Harriet and Margot I love!

Also love Cecily/Cecilia.

Alice is lovely - no reason why you can't use it this time if it's your number one? I know 2 sisters where the parents did this and they love that connection!

And Stanley - it's the only name I heard after we named ds that I wished we'd used..... :-)

Florence, hands down. Pearl is lovely too.

Constance, Kitty and Eliza would've also been on my shortlist for a girl.

Harriet is one of my favourite names, harri is so cute on a little girl. But I do like Margot as well - I'm my world it would get shortened to Maggie.

Clawdy Thu 05-Nov-15 10:09:38

Margot for me will always be Penelope Keith in The Good Life!

Maplessglobe Thu 05-Nov-15 10:12:16

I love margot or Margaux the most. The rest are lovely, too. Katherine nn kitty is pretty.

WhereDidTheYearsGo Thu 05-Nov-15 10:21:41

Exactly what I thought Clawdy!

Love Harriet. It's not very common around here and the one we know loves her name.

Sophronia Thu 05-Nov-15 11:07:39

Katherine. It's the most classic of the list, whereas Harriet, Florence and Margot are very 2015.

reuset Thu 05-Nov-15 11:27:22

Katherine, though I like Kathy or Kate more than Kitty. Margot next, but I like 'em all. grin

Katherine. But don't like Pearl as middle with it.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost Thu 05-Nov-15 12:36:17

I would say Katherine but I don't think Katherine Pearlgoes, but then if you're not hyphenating I don't suppose it really matter.
Florence Pearl just rolls off your tongue but Florence is becoming tedious now, There are not many baby Katherines about now.
However I also love Margot Pearl.
I just don't like the sound of Harriet.
I agree about Ruby being a difficult MN. It'd more suited as a FN but if you really wanted to include it.
Have you thought of Ruby Pearl.
Or giving her 3 names
Eg
Margot Ruby Pearl
Katherine Ruby Pearl
Florence Ruby Pearl
Harriet Ruby Pearl.

Harriet pearl (hetty/hattie/Etta/harry) - like
Florence pearl (florrie) - like
Margot Lois (Meg/Maggie) - dislike, both faddy and harsh names
Katherine pearl (kitty) - like the names but Kitty is too cattish for me.

Margot.

momb Thu 05-Nov-15 15:08:51

I like your list. Would prefer Margaret for your NNs though.
Love Kitty but many would shorten to Katie which you may find annoying later.
How about Lilia Pearl, just to throw another into the mix!?

fredericofoofoo Thu 05-Nov-15 15:12:34

Love Katherine but am biased as its DD name. DD now mid 20's and gone through various nn - Katie when toddler, Kate at school and now Kit at work so its very versatile.

Of your others, I love Harriet, then Florence (although I know of 2 under 3 year olds) and then Margot
