Nickname Jules. Would she always be teased about Romeo? Any thoughts would be great.

Lovely name, can't imagine the Romeo connection would be made regularly enough to irritate.

Funny that Romeo (to me at least) sounds so ultra naff whereas Juliet sounds really elegant.

A fine choice. Doubt you'll have trouble with Romeo.

I like it, slightly prefer Julia though, do you like that?

Great choice, would be on our shortlist, with the Jules shortening too.

Nickname could equally end up being Julie, make sure you are ok with that.
Its a nice name, I'm seeing it coming in in schools now though.

Lovely name!

Agree that somehow Romeo doesn't seem to work in the UK as well as Juliet. Whereas other Italian boy names do work.

Really lovely.

Fingers crossed she doesn't date Romeo Beckham (or any Romeo's named in his wake!)

If I had a third daughter this would have been her name. Lovely.

Love Juliet, not keen on Julie or Jules.

Didn't even think of Romeo until I read it up thread Blush

I love the name. Gorgeous, timeless, classic. Can be shortened to a variety of nns.

We have one. She's never been called any of those nicknames (she gets Jbug though!). Obviously I'm going to be biased but I like it a lot!

I love it, would be on our girls list if we had another one. I do prefer the spelling Juliette though.

There was s Juliet in my form at school. I don't think she ever got any Romeo digs.

My fantasy girl twins would be called Josephine and Juliet.

Lovely. Can't go wrong with a Shakespearean name.

I love the name. I've have a relative called Juliette (it sounds the same but spelt differently) Nickname Jools. She loves her name but loathes it when people mishear or shorten it to Julie, which she absolutely hates and instantly corrects. Have to admit she got where's romeo as a teen but I doubt now it really crosses anybodys mind.
