How many little Lucys do you know?

Not pg but was just thinking how I haven't met any little Lucys at any baby groups. Is it one of those rare 'well known but not ubiquitous' names? Might add it to list for mythical DD!

One. She's not really little though - she's five. And lovely! It's a great name.

Gorgeous name. I know a few but don't think it's massively over done. Definitely don't hear it as often as Amelia, Olivia etc. always loved this name.

I know 2, my dd (10) and a friend's daughter (8)

But I do know a few adult Lucys, and I always think it sounds like a girl's name not a woman's. The adult Lucys I know are all nice, competent adults, but I still feel they have a 'young' name.

But there are a couple of names I feel like that about, Robin and Wendy being two others.

So our Lucy is actually her shortened name. She has a gorgeous longer name, which I can't share because it is Dutch and very uncommon, and so would out her. At the moment she is known as Lucy in UK and longname in Holland. I am hoping she choses to use her longer name more as an adult.

Three. One is 5, one is 2 and the youngest is 3 months old.

Spooky. My dd has decided that this is what we've got to call dc if its a girl.

Interesting that you called your own DD Lucy then steppenmum, she's going to be a grown up too in five or ten years Grin

steppemum · 27/10/2015 16:03

chrome, if you read the whole post, Hmm she isn't called Lucy. That is a short name, like Becky for Rebecca.

Obviously she can chose to continue to be called Becky as an adult, or revert to Rebecca.

and Becky is another one for my list of girl's names and it is my name!
