I think I've found the ultimate 'dodgy spelling of normal baby name to try and make it unique'

Grace is quite a nice name. So is Gracie as a nn.

So what's the consensus on 'Graicae'? Hmm

I have seen Dayana for Diana. But your Graicae gets the prize.

Ooooh. I'd pronounce it to rhyme with "Crikey!"

It took me a while to work out what it was actually meant to be when I saw it on FB!

I'd assume it was the nominative plural of an -a ending, so I'd think there were a couple of girls called Graica. I might wonder if it was Serbian (wasn't thee end aSebian composer with the surname Graic?).

Or else I'd just think it was a totally shit name.

I'd definitely pronounce it Grike-eye though! And I genuinely wouldn't have a clue it was supposed to be a variant of Grace. I think I'd probably piss off the parents quite a lot Grin

Are they of any kind of heritage where this spelling might make sense?

"There a" not thee end a. Bloody autocorrect.

That's...interesting.
I know a Liliee. I like to think it must be an actual name somewhere but it's a younieek spelling isn't it?

Pipbin nope! I've been trying to think of some excuse for it but no idea what's going on Confused

That reads how someone with a thick Birmingham accent would pronounce Gracie.

"Grayyyy-sayyyy".

I have a friend whose family uses only unique names. They have four generations of this tradition. I LOVE it when they chat on FB. It's very pleasing.

An old work pal liked L'Oren. I was aghast.

I see you, and raise you a unique 'Erica'
(Although it is in the US so I don't know if it counts...)

Airwrecka sounds like a NN for someone with particularly potent farts.

Isn't Erica an established 'normal' baby name?

Shouldn't that be Graicæ?

What!!!. It doesn't even spell Gracie. Its more like Gray-Say. I've nothing against unique spellings. I actually quite like some of them. Lili for Lily.
Elliegh for Ellie, at least you can still tell what names they are. There's nothing wrong with difference. Being unique is one thing being daft is another.
There are some names you can't change the spelling of, and Gracie is certainly one of them.. Almost as bad as J-Cub.
